Everybody likes striplights but hardly anybody likes to carry them around. In fact they are bulky, they usually take time to setup and they are tricky to position when shooting on location. The StripTubes is a novel light shaper for strobist, the confined space offers photographers the opportunity to work with a narrow band of light and get professional level results. For product or portrait, almost everywhere... The particular property of the StripTube is the enormous space savings and-compared to the traditional Strip Lights, the significantly better mobility. With StripTube you easily put powerful lighting accents in places which would often be impossible for an common Striplight Softbox: Under cars, couches, etc. While you are carrying a lot of bulky softboxes or pin them on location awkward together and put a bulky speedlight adapter on your tripod, you have your first pictures in the can with StripTube. Ten minutes after you have elegantly hove your complete lighting system from the trunk of your small car. If you have purchased a twin-pack of StripTube, you are able to link two tubes. This StripTube is then more than 150cm long! You can also attach both tubes horizontally, across each other on a tripod by means of Super clamps. A Photographer of beauty portraits achieves a great variability of the camera position with amazing space-saving because of the asymmetrical center of gravity. Instal ltwo StripTubes next to each other and enjoy the lighting effect of a rectangle softbox. Thanks to its narrow shape of StripTube-Light Control distributes the flash in the form of a narrow strip of light. In product photography, you can use the StripTube to produce elongated reflections on smooth surfaces. A prominent example of this is a long, narrow reflections on glass bottles.

A Thin Plastic Tube with Shiny Writing On it - False Description - Unusable
Hate is not a strong enough word for how I feel about this product. There are so many problems. First of all it's a beautiful thin plastic tube with writing on it. I really wanted it to work as an alternative to the SaberLight. But being attractive from afar is the extent of it's positives. The description is extremely misleading. I was expecting a "StripLight Set..." What I received was a single plastic tube. There is no mounting bracket and it requires an odd bracket for you to even be able to use it, preferably one that can be articulated a different angles to maximize the product. The word "Set" in the product description also suggest either a pair, mounting brackets or something that makes this product usable. Even the flyer that comes with the package shows two tubes on the cover. I find it misleading that there is only one striplight. I expected to buy rubber backed velcro for my speedlights and be ready to shoot; not happening with this product. Based on the description along it is incomplete. You will need to spend far more money to make this work and I'm not even sure what else I need for this thing. The listing here doesn't have any add-on suggestions and product add-ons are difficult to find online and I didn't expect to need more than the "Set" itself. The rail that runs alongside the tube is also very thin hard plastic as shown. However, on other sites online the tubes have what appears to be an aluminum strip which would be far better. Tightening and sliding metal connectors against this rail makes breaking, chipping and falling over (potentially damaging your speedlight) not only possible but eminent. I suggest they add the aluminum rail back as it is seen on other online sites.I'm not exactly sure what to do with this modifier. Maybe i'll mail something in it as it appears now that's all it's good for. I want it to work as I have an almost immediate need for it. I'd much rather it be a set (pair) as the description says and have at least a pathway shown toward getting a bracket.I haven't used it at all since I received it not more than a few hours ago. I unpacked it and looked it over less than an hour ago and I kept going thru the packaging looking for the other one or some type of hardware other than a tiny strip of velcro. Unfortunately, there isn't anymore. Unless I can work up a quick solution this is going back.

The unit serves as an aha moment at best. The single unit arrives alone and not a set as described and pictured throughout the description, which is a huge let down and the number one reason you will return it if purchased. The mounting arms pictured are simple speed light brackets but do not come with the product (another letdown). The plastic slide mount on the side is weak and flimsy and should be made of metal (3rd letdown). The product itself is just a tube, just like the SaberLight and functions the same. Most photography modifiers are usually create an "aha, why didn't I think of that" moment on arrival. Truth is, all of these products are DIY projects if you have the skill set. We overpay pay for products like these to look more professional to your peers (because clients don't see the difference or care). The reality is that you could have made most of them yourself. This unit is no different. In all, I'm happy that I made the purchase for the "aha moment" that helped me realize that I can make this myself and put my own photography logos on it. It's definitely being returned ASAP as it's not worth the price for a single unit. I would have kept it if it arrived as a set.

Fun light mod
I've been eyeing up the saberstrip for awhile but didn't like the idea of having to take out the speedlight to adjust the light. This item solves that issue. It's very easy to set up, mount, and shoot. I've used many light mods over the years. This one might be my new go to. It's a must to put Velcro on the speedlight along with the strap to keep it from slipping out. It's fun to try out all the different angles. $150 does seem a little steep for what it is. Plus, the description and photos are very misleading. This is not a set. Otherwise, I would've given this 4 stars.
