Brilliant Activities for Reading Comprehension, Year 2 Paperback – October 1, 2012

As a private tutor for children from 5 to 12, I was delighted to discover this book series by chance. The books contain reading passages designed to engage children at each level. The questions that follow each passage are very well structured to lead them to an understanding of the text.These books leave the old standards in the shade. Highly recommended to all teachers and parents! Gold stars from me.

I like the range of genres. Each text is followed by questions, a Vocab focus and extension activity suggestions to incorporate writing. I have purchased Y2, Y3, Y4 and Y5 of this publication. (Teacher/Tutor).

Great activities, progressive as you use the book. Answers in the back. I use this as an independent activity during guided reading sessions.

Excellent range of topics covered. Easy to use, well laid out and the children enjoy the work.

Used for Year 1 pupils. This book range are pitched a little bit low in my professional experience.
