The problem is that she tried to use it like Secret gel, just a quick zip-zip under the arms. With this stuff you really want to coat it on there, and it takes a little effort, going over the entire underarm and then going over it again. The up side to the hardness of the stick is that it lasts a long time. I don’t mean the odor protection, although that does last a long time, but the stick itself. Even though it feels like you’re using a lot of it, you’re not really, and I can make a stick last a month. I’ve tried other similar magnesium-based deodorants, like Crystal and Dr. Squatch. They’re softer and easy to apply, but they’re also nearly twice as expensive and the stick lasts less than half as long, probably about 10 days. Crystal didn’t work very well at all (it didn’t help that the scent itself smelled kind of like B.O.), but Dr. Squatch worked at least as well as Dr. Teal’s. The problem again with Dr. Squatch is cost and that the stick depletes too quickly. Dr. Teal’s is the one for me. You have to apply it when your under arms are a little damp. It does not roll on easy but it does work! **Q: Does it contain Propylene Glycol?** A: I don’t know because I threw it away. One I found, if you dribble a bit of water or put on while you're puts are wet from the shower, it's perfect. Any others?** A: The company instructions say to warm the deodorant up. I used my hair dryer to do that and it helped somewhat. You can also just hold it under your arm for a few minutes and it should warm it up that way too. But I understand they're beginning to make the deodorant so that warming it will not be required. I put mine on now without any preliminary activity. I love it because it stays away from the aluminum and works and smells great...so I will deal with rubbing a brick under my arm. The company really needs to address this because it is an excellent product.
