That was originally what I ordered it for, and it would have met my needs perfectly. I decided before I received it that I wanted to mount my switch inside a box as well, so I returned this bracket. The bracket was not deep enough to accommodate my switch. I had to purchase a much more expensive box which would hold the switch. This bracket would have been great for just the patch panel and a power strip. It is very heavy, well-made, and has a hinged side to access the patch panel.
