CuiZen CST-1412B Hot Dog Steamer, Small, Red

This thing is amazing. I did research for days trying to find the right hotdog cooker. I'm so glad I went with this one instead of a roller because steamed buns really do change the hot dog eating experience. This thing steams perfectly awesome hot dogs and buns. I've also used it to steam fish, vegetables and other things that I just wanted to play around and experiment with. It will cook food with no problem. It's easy to clean. I don't know why this thing has any negative reviews. You cannot leave your hot dogs in there all day though. It's not one of those types of steamers. Eventually, time depending on how much you have this thing loaded down with, the hotdogs will split. But if you want a great hot dog and in just a little bit of time with perfectly steamed buns then this thing is perfect. Not to mention the sea food was amazing. For the price too, you can't go wrong. When you take the top off of the bun steamer compartment make sure you lift it straight up and let the water drip off in the sink. It's Steam, which equals water, so if you lift it and aren't careful then the water will pour back on the buns. If you have any common sense then you will be able to master this steamer. Maybe other customers got a bad one but I sure did not.

Love this machine! Makes perfect dogs, and makes those dry buns from the bag soft again, which makes all the difference! Worked perfect for our once a week concession at our local bmx track, and we have noticed more hot dog sales now compared to the boiled dogs and dry out of the bag buns! To keep from dousing your buns with the water from the lid, just leave some space on one side of the buns compartment and tilt the lid towards that spot and let the water drain off into that empty space. The only negative is that I tend to eat more of the profits now lol!

I was skeptical but this works great! It holds plenty of dogs and buns. I like my buns toasted but steamed also are good. I was hesitant about the all-plastic construction but it is plenty sturdy. It's also comes apart for a very thorough cleaning. Hot, sudsy, water and air-dry - you are good to go. Cooks fast and the timer is handy. I went from stone-cold to ready in 15 minutes.

This thing is fabulous. Makes a great tasting hot dog. Had a party and the guests loved the taste of the dogs. The buns steam while the dog cooks. Takes less time than the instructions say to cook. 10 minutes or so for a full tray. If you cook too long the dogs will split and the buns get too soft and wet. Cook it correctly and both come out perfect. Only took one batch to get the timing down.

We heard and read good things about this. When we received it I was surprised that it appeared to be made of cheap plastic and thought the test would be in the outcome. We were pleasantly surprised how well the hot dogs turned out. I have to agree with many others who said the buns were too soggy if steamed for the prescribed time. We steamed them for a fraction of the time and they were still too soggy. I would skip using that feature altogether. I’m giving it four stars because I do think it’s overpriced.

We were so excited to get this, and at first we loved it, but after only three uses, the tab on the back that holds it together broke. It is totally useless now because without that tab holding it together it just topples over, and of course the return window has closed just a couple of days ago. I definitely would not recommend purchasing this. Nice idea, but very poorly made... So disappointed...

Works great. A bit hard to keep the buns from getting to soggy though. Would like to use it more. Just the sheer amount of crevices it's a pain to clean. Grows mold really fast. Only been used 3 times since purchased.
