Google Pixel 5, 128GB, Sorta Sage - Unlocked (Renewed)

Let's be honest, I wasn't expecting much from a refurbished phone. But this little "Sage Savior" (as I've come to call it) has seriously impressed me. The battery life is a champ, lasting me well into the evening even after a day of constant calls and texts. Plus, the camera takes such crisp photos, even in low light. Remember that camping trip where I captured those amazing starry sky shots? Yep, all thanks to this little green wonder. Honestly, for the price, this phone has been a game-changer. It's sleek, smooth, and handles everything I throw at it, from social media browsing to editing documents on the go. If you're looking for a reliable, affordable phone that doesn't skimp on features, definitely consider giving this refurbished gem a shot. You might just be surprised by its sage wisdom ;)

We travel extensively and wanted a spare phone so we can be up and running with a new phone immediately if something happened to our main phone. We have a Pixel 5, which we bought new as soon as they were released. We will probably be upgrading phones next year and the Pixel 5 works perfectly for our needs and didn’t want to spend a lot. So we bought this refurbished Pixel 5, exactly the same as our other, except in the Sorta Sage color rather than black like our other one, so we could easily tell them apart. We have had it just about a day, but so far it works perfectly. It looked like new when it arrived. We updated it and installed all of the apps. We also installed an eSIM from Airalo, so it has full data capabilities. We can use Google Voice for calls and text. So we have a high quality, fully-functioning phone for $300, with no long-term contract, credit check, etc. We are trading in a Pixel 4a that we were using as a podcast and music listening device. With that, our total is less than $200. When Google stops updating the Pixel 5 software, we will look at buying two refurbished phones of a later edition the same way.

I've had every Google phone dating back to the Nexus line, only getting maybe 2 of them brand new. I've always purchased used, year-old models from Amazon or eBay as I'm not the "need the newest one" kinda guy I was back in the mid-late 2000s. It's been a mixed bag of results, as I've received some great condition phones that were only listed as "good" condition, and some clunkers that were listed as "excellent/like new". For example, the Pixel 3XL I purchased on Amazon a few years back was listed as excellent but had a large scratch on the screen that my fingernail could get stuck in. This Pixel 5 was in the best condition that I've ever received a used phone in--no blemishes or scratches, even under very close examination. I'm very happy with the purchase. As for the phone itself, despite a few gripes, it's a solid entry in the Pixel lineup. Pros: -The battery on this is the best I've used, possibly ever on a smartphone. It lasts all day no problem, even under heavy usage. I'm frequently left with 30-40% battery when I go to bed, which is fantastic, especially for a used phone. -I love that they brought back the fingerprint scanner. Even though it's "old tech" it works so much better than the face unlock I've had on previous Pixels. Others may disagree, but this is my favorite unlock/security method to have on a phone. -The camera is great. While it may not have the snappiest photo processing, it does take a great picture. -I really dig the green color and am a fan of not having a glass back. I always seemed to end up with cracks, even with a case, on my glass-back phones. Sure this back is plastic, but it doesn't feel super cheap--it has a tile-like feel. -There's no wasted front real estate. It's got an edge-to-edge screen, so no forehead or chin that would make the phone unnecessarily larger. -While this is a person-to-person, carrier-to-carrier issue, on my Pixel 4XL that I bought used from Amazon, I was locked out of WiFi calling on that device by my carrier. I read that this happens to some AT&T customers when they purchase a preowned phone. It took me MONTHS of contact and threatening to switch carriers to get that finally activated. No such problem on this phone Cons: -I've always had the XL models of the PIxel and they did away with that for the 5, so this is smaller than I'm used to. And I kind of miss the larger size. -Not super wild about the left-aligned hole-punch front camera. I think I'd rather have it in the center. -While I did mention I like the edge-to-edge screen, the sacrifice for this is having the front speaker hidden under the glass. As others have mentioned in reviews for the Pixel 5, this is noticeably a worse sounding phone than my 4XL, and probably a few generations before that. Overall, the sound is disappointing. -As this is a review in 2022, as of now it just seems like the Pixel 5 is a forgotten entry for Google and aftermarket manufacturers. Sure there are still plenty of cases and accessories that are compatible, but I've found that a few popular case manufacturers don't make Pixel 5 cases anymore. For example, I have a leather Bellroy case for my 4XL that I loved, and wanted to get one for my 5. I look on their site and they have the leather case available for the 2, 3, 4, 5a, and 6--not the 5! And when I contacted them to ask about it, they said they will not be making any more and "tend not to reproduce older cases as they become obsolete very quickly", which doesn't make a ton of sense since cases for older Pixels are available on their site. I've noticed a few other manufacturers not having Pixel 5 cases as well. Overall I really do enjoy the phone. It's in wonderful condition and the battery life helps reduce the sting of the small gripes that I listed above.

Came in, in perfect mint condition. I can't tell it's a refurbished phone at all. I was worried because of some of the reviews, but I guess the sellers uped their game. I'm switching over from a Google pixel 3 (not pink) and the sage is very mute but stunning. The battery life is far better. I will say the camera *seems* less impressive than the 3 but I'm not too disappointed in it. Screen resolution is fantastic and the 90hertz display is swift and a noticeable upgrade. The screen and back phone has no scratches or dents. The phone, once it arrives, will need to be updated to Android 12 as they are on 11, but in my opinion the update is glitchy and isn't needed so I was kind of happy without it. Fingerprint scanner is quick. Buttons are clicky but I will say, not as clicky as the 3. Not disappointed though. The hole punch display isn't noticeable and the extra screen space is nice! Oh! But the speakers are probably a small con as they are located at the bottom of the phone so they're easily blocked and aren't as loud as the 3.

SLOW FAST CHARGE. As soon as you start using it, the charging starts to throttle and from a full charge in 80 min goes to 4 hours or more. So I'm done, I need a phone that can fast charge without over throttling and overheating. Google fit an agressive throttle charging system. It works great if you do it while sleeping because the screen is off but as soon as you start using it and the temperature of the phone gets greater than 35C° the fast charging is gone. And that's a cool temperature for me but the ones who made the phone seem to think differently. Other thing. The processor is to slow. I can feel the difference between the iPhone SE 2020 that I had and this Google pixel 5. So in short I'm returning it because of the bad really bad, SLOW fast charging and it's not so good processor. The camera of this phone is great though. Better than many out there. I do a lot of screen on time so for me this way of slow fast charging is not for me.

My reconditioned Pixel 5 128GB from Edge Cellular has been perfect for the past 3 weeks. There was only slight wear on the back from laying on the charger, you really have to look for it. If it weren't for the low price I'd swear this is a new phone. I updated to Android 12, not a single issue. I love the 90hz refresh rate. It's like staying in a nice hotel or flying first class, you can go back to coach, but now you know what you'll be missing. The size fits perfectly in my front pocket, but I find myself making more typos with my fat thumbs. My Moto would die by the end of a single day, where this can go 2 full days. I would have given 5 stars, but I must use battery saver (not a real problem) and if I use maps or watch videos, I must use extreme battery saver. 4 stars is still pretty good. I highly recommend this phone and especially Edge Cellular. Go for the green, people really seem to like it. Update - 7 months later and everything is still working great. I gave up on battery saver, but I can go all day and recharge at night. Great phone!

Pros: 1. Good photos during day time. 2. Good battery life(except when Bluetooth is used) 3. Looks good. Cons: 1. Phone's speakers are bad(not sure if it's pixel 5 or renewed phone's fault). We can hear two sounds while ringing in speaker mode. 2. Though my phone was supposed to be in excellent condition, I found marks on the phone's body. 3. Battery doesn't even last 5 hours on Bluetooth. 4. Phone gets really heated up on usage when battery is below 30% and while charging. 5. Night time photos are really bad, like 2MP one. 6. I faced screen becoming non-responsive, touch not working multiple times. Sometimes 3-4 times a day. Overall, I used it for less than 30 days and found many issues. Not sure if it's pixel or the renewed phone's issues.

I've never been the kind of person to purchase "refurbished/renewed" electronics on the Internet due to the fact that I cannot see the condition of said device I'll receive. Most sellers fulfill orders from a stock or inventory pool, so product pictures shown on the listing almost never represent the item you'll ultimately end up with. Also, the pricing often seems "to good to be true" thus adding more skepticism to my decision on whether to commit to the transaction or settle for buying brand new from retailer. BUTT i was not disappointed at all, not even a little bit. The phones condition, screen, battery, was all practically... New? Obviously it wasn't, duh,I know... But it legit looks new and performs like new, not even a scratch. Only negative thing I'll say is that the charging brick included is a wimpy 10w charger and should have just been left out of the box, I have many newer bricks I anticipated using evenn before I discovered the one included. Maybe other buyers could make use of it but I highly doubt it. Maybe it's not "negative" to include a brick nor is it a deal breaker that the output is only a sad 10 watt, just me being picky. Don't hesitate, buy .

El teléfono funciona bien, llego un día antes de lo esperado. En el aspecto estético considero que las condiciones "excelentes" podrían describirlo, sin embargo, llegó algo sucio, tienes detalles en carcasa como rayones que no se quitan aunque también son muy mínimos. Llegó en caja genérica, la duración de la batería es justa para un día, aún no he visto el porcentaje de vida útil que tiene pero el mayor problema es el cargador y cable con los que vino, aunque son samsung nuevos en mi apariencia son genéricos y para una carga completa el cargador terminó oliendo a plástico quemado, por lo que para quien considere comprarlo contemple ese gasto adicional. Espero actualizar en breve para dar seguimiento al funcionamiento del cel como reacondicionado.

Me llegó el pixel 5 en muy buenas condiciones y funcionaba bien. Luego de 4 meses aproximadamente, comenzó con problemas de conexión a wifi y algunas apps dejaban de funcionar de la nada. Finalmente, dejó de funcionar y se apagó. En Ensenada, México, no hay servicio especializado para su reparación, así que lo tengo inservible...

El equipo tenía el vidrio de la camara estrellado levemente, pensé que era posiblemente un arañazo y al ser reacondicionado, me resultó aceptable en un inició pues no afectaba las fotos (grave error no usarlo inmediatamente). También tenía como polvo o agua en el lente y por el procesado de imagenes de google, digamos que se arreglaban aunque no siempre dependiendo las condiciones de luz de la foto. Eso fue molesto, pero pues corría el riesgo al ser producto "renovado" A los tres meses usandolo por 15 días (pues salí de viaje y no me dio tiempo de hacer el cambio de mi equipo y datos del celular que usaba, así que hasta regresar y tener oportunidad de configurar a mi gusto empece a usarlo al 100%), el cristal que recubre las camaras se rompió!!! Confié que al haber adquirido directo en Amazon Estados Unidos (venta y envío) el teléfono estaría como lo señala la garantía de Amazon. Pésima experiencia. NO confies aunque el vendedor y envío sea de Amazon!!!
