Compared it to my Kawai acoustic piano, the key bed on this one is heavier, but is still enjoyable to play. The keys do feel very close to those on my Kawai. Sounds are really good and do sound much better through headphones that through the on-board speakers. The speakers are bottom facing and do not sound great if you're playing over anything but a reflective floor (hardwood, tile, etc.) But the keyboard does have jacks on the back for studio monitor speakers. I love playing it with the headphones on because it doesn't bother anyone else who may happen to be home. That said the key bed does make some noise and may be a problem late a night when others are sleeping. Just something to be aware of. The concert piano sound is where this one shines. The other sounds are really good for the most part. Only thing I wished was that Roland had a key map available for some of the other sounds like for the drums or sound effects. I also like the fact that you can use this keyboard as a controller for a DAW. I'm an intermediate player just getting into using one and not having to buy another keyboard controller right away is a plus.

This keyboard is fantastic! I have a piano in our main living area. It is nice to have this wonderful keyboard in a quiet area in my house to be able to play my music anytime I’d like. This Roland has a nice sound and the feel is great. I would recommend this keyboard.

One of my best buys ever. Easy to set up and has a beautiful sound. I did buy a different pedal as I wanted something more sturdy. Highly recommend this keyboard. It has loads of variations that I haven’t even tried yet. Glad I went up to the FP-30X from the FP-10X. The extra options I think are worth the money.

I love learning how to play on this fantastic keyboard. It sounds and feels like a real piano.

The sound and "touch" work as advertised - truly excellent. The sole issue is that Amazon delivered a returned FP-30X. Other than advertising, no documentation accompanied the FP30X. The piano arrived with numerous scuff marks and a few mars - perhaps a result of the minimal packaging. The "brilliant" control has a mind of its own, wandering in and out. Nonetheless, this is a remarkable instrument.

I upgraded to this Roland digital piano from a smaller 76 key keyboard by Casio. The differences are remarkable. The Roland keyboard is widely recognized as the closest in feel to that of an acoustic grand piano and is much firmer than simpler keyboards like the smaller Casio. That is recommended for developing the best muscle memory in the hands and fingers as you practice. The sound also much richer and fuller. The speakers are excellent and provide plenty of volume. The only real negative is that the included sustain pedal is small and plastic and too light in weight to stay in place. Fortunately, my old sustain pedal that I had purchased for use with the Casio keyboard appears to work fine. Roland sells a three-pedal unit, but it is only designed to work with their keyboard stand and might be difficult to configure without purchasing the stand.

This 88-key digital keyboard is just the ticket, now that I can't keep a large piano in my home. The weighted keys are exactly what I need as a classical player. The sound is good and I really enjoy the option to use headphones for scales and those odd hour practice sessions. Worth the price. I later went to Sweetwater online and bought a stand, dust cover, and adjustable, upholstered, single-seat bench. Their service is incredible, by the way. I highly recommend this digital keyboard.

As a pianist, having played many of the top name brands, and having Steinway Piano once been my sponsor, this Roland come closest to a real piano's action. It has all the functions I require of a digital keyboard, and for the price, it's a great bargain, and belongs in every serious music and piano lovers household. I should add if you are able, hold off on the typical youngster beginner piano. Get this for your beginner kid, and also for yourself, and the whole family will enjoy a quality product for generations, when you pass the Roland along.

Incredible piano for people who are serious long term pianists whose lives are on the go. I would even recommend it as an investment for new pianists wanting to improve.

Simply great specially for a newbie like me. I had ordered an FP10x but the seller kindly notified me that the FP30 was available for the same price. A great deal I couldn't refuse. The keyboard is amazing leaning towards a "less is more"...no digital screens, no complications- which is what I sincerely appreciate.

Love my Roland keyboard. I'm a late bloomer but giving it my all to learn the keyboard. The Roland keyboard has great features and makes it a joy to use. I love the weighted keys and I did purchase a pedal that works very well with the sustain feature as well. Pianote is a great site for learning and makes it very easy to learn.
