This is a handmade portable wooden executive lapdesk, great for reading, computers, gaming, TV dinners, writing letters and thousands of other "sofa-top" activities (even puzzles!). It combines portability, utility and a handmade look and feel that doesn't even compare to similar mass-produced products. I build these lapdesks for great durability, a casual feel and a beautiful custom, handmade finish (and they are spill-proof!) The shape is PERFECT for casual office work anywhere around the house - great for sofas, armchairs, lawn chairs and any other sitting spot. These LapDesks are approx. 16" tall x 22" wide and 3/8" thick - they are strong enough to hold even the heaviest of computers and all of your tech. I build these with quality, hand-selected materials and do all of the work myself to ensure every desk is beautiful! Since I use real dye stains and 3 topcoats of an industrial-grade satin lacquer, these desks are spill-proof and will not warp (as long as you wipe off the mess...). The red oak lapdesks feature an ornate and natural, heavy grain that shows through without causing unevenness when writing directly on the desk, while the hickory (pecan) lapdesks feature a lighter grain that still shows the beauty of this Texas-sourced wood and provides for superior writability. I use hand-selected dye stains in a variety of colors matched to specific wood species to show off their natural grains including stain colors such as Mahogany, Golden Oak, Walnut and Cherry and also brighter colors such as Turquoise and Burnt Orange. *PLEASE NOTE: All wood species have natural variations.
