Excellent case
This case is the best. I have an autistic son who is extremely hard on his ipad and this case has taken everything he has dished out. Before we got the case, he had dropped the ipad and the color went screwy. I thought it was broken for good, but I read somewhere smacking it on the back MAY just fix it, and it did the trick. Taking no chances after that, we bought this case and the ipad has been dropped, thrown, bitten... you name it, and it is still in good shape. It also has a good grip to it - ipads are really quite slick if they are not in a case. The charging cover has been moved hundreds of times since we got the case and it is still intact. The button covers (power, volume) all allow for good operation - you still get a good feel and sound when they are used.

Rugged case for tough handling
Purchased a total of three of these cases for work iPads, plus one for the iPad mini. Things to love:- Soft, but tough outer shell that's smooth to the touch.- Rigid inner plastic frame houses the iPad snugly.- Outer rubber (actually, it's silicone) layer has many points of attachment to the plastic frame, so that it comes together looking like one solid piece (and makes it impossible to become loose or detached).- Extra rubber on the square corners to absorb more shock from a drop (hence "ShockDrop")- Access to all ports via flexible openings.- Integrated screen protector that one will hardly notice when using the iPad.- Opening for speaker on the back.- Rubber material makes it easy to grip; it won't slide or slip off of surfaces.- Fits the latest iPad model (4th generation).Things NOT to love:- Rubber tends to attract dust, hair, etc. to the outside of case. Keep a can of compressed air handy to blast it off safely, and some antistatic wipes to routinely clean the screen protector.- Not completely waterproof, but certainly water resistant.- Rubber buttons are very prominent and often accidentally pushed.- Adds considerable weight and size, making the iPad feel like a brick. (Could be a pro for some.)- Screen protector doesn't have a sticky inside surface like most of the ones bought separately, and this means there is (sometimes) a noticeable air pocket between the protector and the iPad screen. (I personally don't care for the sticky protectors, as they always end up getting that one speck of dust inside that makes the whole thing look and feel dirty and cheap.)Other things to note:- I purchased the "Black/Grey" model, but it's really "Black/Black". I think the grey refers to the outer rubber layer, but it's only slightly lighter than the inner plastic frame. No one I know would look at this case and call it grey.- The rubber cover for the charging port keeps closed very well, but when plugged in for charging, the stiffness of the open cover makes it push against the cable with considerable force. Not enough that I would worry about it bending or dislodging the cable, but enough to at least give you a hard time when plugging in. (Definitely a two-handed task.)- Price: everyone will have a different opinion in this area. Personally, I was hesitant to spend 10% of the value of the new iPad 4 to get a case. However, I do not regret doing so at this point. A good protective case is an insurance policy on a $500+ investment. That being said, I think this company could market their case at a lower cost. I bought the first two at $49.99 and the second one at $59.99. A better price would be right around $39.99.Overall, given the pros and cons, this is a great case that won't disappoint. If you need to use your iPad in rough environments, it's perfect. If you're really clumsy with stuff, this should protect from most major bumps and falls. If you just plan on using it around the house and you take care of your things, this is overkill.

Great product!
I've bought several of these in the past couple years because I destroy the plastic screen cover, only because I'm very hard on it. I think this iPod case is the best thing ever!!! Before I had this I dropped my iPad 2 on the garage floor which is concrete. I almost destroyed my iPod but was thankfully able to repair it. At that time someone recommended this to me. They also told my that our local public schools use these same cases for their iPads, so I assumed it had to be good. It's better than I ever expected. Since I first bought this case I have dropped my iPad several times on the garage floor and it has protected my iPad every single time faithfully!!! I couldn't be happier!

Purchased 2 of Hard Candy Cases ShockDrop Series Case for ...
Purchased 2 of Hard Candy Cases ShockDrop Series Case for iPad3/2 based on positive reviews (July 2014). Digitizers on both iPad 2 needed to be replace after about 4 months because my active 7 years old twins managed to drop both of their iPad on a hardwood floor. So, if you're looking for something to protect your pressures devices - look someplace else.

Not a bad cover but the plastic screen protector scratches up easily

What a great case! Fits perfectly!!!!
Ordered this case for my iPad 3 and the fit was perfect. It's durable yet slick enough to use everywhere. My wife said the ridges on the side grip are too industrial looking, but both my kids said the ridges actually help them get a better grip on the iPad. It doesn't add a lot of weight either, my first case was a Autre box and it added quite a bit of weight to the iPad which is not the case with this one. The clear cover works perfectly with the touch screen.

I've had my ipad 2 for more than 2 years now.
I like how the screen protector doesn't stick to my ipad's screen, it settles just right. I bought this to elongate the life of my ipad and i believe it will when i saw it. Would recommend.

Ipad glass shattered twice now using this case.
And the reason why I hate it is because my toddle has dropped my iPad twice now and this will be the second time I have had to replace my screen. The problem is at the front of the iPad there really is no protection. There is that hard plastic that is flat with the rubber that encloses it and this does not work. You need the rubber to protrude higher than the hard black plastic so if the iPad were to be dropped 1ft and a half off the ground like today it won’t shatter the screen.
