This is an awesome tool if you are camping or if you are a survivalist. It is a lot more than just a fire starter. You have three things in this one tool. You have a fire starter, a knife and rope. You can do so much with these three things if you are in the woods.The paracord on this fire starter makes a great rope. On one edge of the flint is jagged teeth which can be used for a knife. And then of course you have the fire starter.So......my husband and son decided that they were gonna see who could get a fire going the quickest with this tool. It was hilarious watching them doing this. So we had a family night with this fire stick. Doesn't take much to have fun in this house! Paracord was not attached on the "wrapped" end to the rod when It arrived. I just removed it, and threaded the light line with striker through drilled hole in rod. That made for a more compact unit.

Works well. Just be sure to scrap off the black coating.

This is a really neat fire starter. The design is very simplistic and it's easy to use. This item is great quality and seems to be put together really well.Pros:Sturdy Paracord handleHandle is a good size to side over your wristStriker includedStriker attached with sturdy paracord handleGreat portable size that will fit in your pocketThis item actually works! It produces enough spark that fires can be built with out the use of a flame.Cons:Though this product does work well there is a learning curve envolved. It does take some pratice but with the right angle and speed you can produce significant spark.We are a family of campers, fishermen and anything else that's an outdoor activity. Our weekly get togethers are normally followed by a bond fire. My teenage son and nephew enjoy building fires with this item and I can trust that no one will be injured in the process.If you are looking to extend your camping gear a bit I can assure you that this product will service you well once you get the hang of it.
