I learned a lot!!! (Mom of three teenage girls)
I am in the overweight, not obese, category, (size 12). I have three girls that are only slightly heavy for their body frame/size. We try to eat healthy but we love our carbs and consume quite a lot at breakfast. As a result we are constantly struggling with feeling fit, especially after celebrations and holidays due to those inevitable few extra pounds that make our clothes tight and our moods frustrated!I am excited about trying the principles that are taught in this book. I have already tried to apply the general concepts in a two day trial and I am pleasantly surprised how I am not missing the sugary carbohydrate laden foods that typically accompany all our meals. The girls are enjoying the change as well...but they do appreciate that there are cheat meals!Some of the foods listed are foreign to me and recipes are not given, but I will incorporate the general principles into my diet and look forward to good results and better health for me and my family!

Excellent Book with great insights into our body system
An excellent and concise read. The book does an excellent job of simplifying the explanation of how the food system works within our body the importance and role of various elements of our digestive system - fat, proteins, leptin/ghrelin, carbohydrates, insulin, and how the various parts of our body interact - liver, blood system, the gut etc. The book helps you build a great mental model of how the overall system works which then helps you decide what to eat and what not to eat. It also has great pointers on an actual diet plan. Would certainly recommend it to anyone who wants to understand this stuff and break away from what media induces into our brain about fat and weight loss. Think different, think contrarian....dont follow the crowd.

Super Book
This is a super book. I read it years ago. The author is a physicist and he puts his knowledge of nutrition into elementary and simple terms. The author is my friend and I watched him slim down using his nutritional beliefs combined with exercise. A lot of usefulPerspective in this book

Great book
I've learnt so much about the way hormones work in my own body and how these have affect my weight loss attempts and subsequent maintenance efforts in the past, resulting in yo-yo dieting. I now feel well informed and empowered enough to finally bring my weight issues under control with the aid of this amazing book.
