The basket seemed to be well constructed. It came with a too small and insufficient little blanket that just covered the bottom of the basket. You will need to use your own pad or blanket.The reason for the one star is the mounting bracket. It was easy to install but once the basket was clipped into the bracket it was very loose. I could move the basket up and down about an inch or more either way. I videotaped the movement and sent it to the manufacturer but they said that was normal movement and everything was properly installed. I returned the basket and am out a $25 restocking fee in addition to the $24 return shipping charge.Another thing about the basket itself is that the sides all taper significantly. The opening on the top is generous but the floor of the basket is quite small. I have a miniature dachshund and I don't think she could have sat comfortably in the basket.I do not recommend this basket for carrying your pet, it did not appear safe to me so I never put my dog into it.

Real wood and leather. Not a fan of the metal cover of the basket, would have preferred a less jail like design like the solvit tagalong wicker basket. My basket arrived with deteriorating leather at the right belt clasp, but that may not entirely be the manufacturer's fault..haven't tried it out yet, but the padding at the bottom is also skimpy. For $100 I would have expected more padding for puppy comfort. I ended up making my own cover for the basket.

Looks good, very sturdy, very easy to mount. I like the snap on belt at the bottom and the option to put on a cage top, though I did not need it. My 10 lb chihuahua took to this with just a little careful introduction. I let her run alongside the bike until she wanted a rest and she was glad to get in there!

is expensive but looks good. I have not used yet but hoping to get the price worth this summer. hope my shitzu love it

I got this basket to carry my Yorkie on my bike. The basket arrived without the plate required for mounting the basket to the bike. My husband e-mailed the manufacturer and they immediately responded saying they would rectify the situation. Apparently there was some miscommunication on their end because we waited another week and a half and heard nothing from the company. After another e-mail asking about the situation, they apologized and within another week we had our missing part. The basket is large and the wire top keeps my dog from jumping out. There is also a way to secure him in the basket without using the top. My dog is 12 pounds and fits easily. I really like the basket because it is cute even without my dog in it! I am very happy.
