I luughed so hard. It reminds me of Home Alone and Tom and Jerry. My cat even tried to find the mouse behind the screen. Great fun!

WILDLY FUNNY - PUTS THE LAUGHS BACK INTO SLAPSTICK
It is funny. This reminds you of classic slapstick from the 1930's. It is as funny as a move can be. Real acting with a snappy fast paced dialogue. Exaggerated personalities heighten the absurdity but in a fun way.Wonderfully well-made movie for the entire family.Enjoy!

Creative
The plot had a lot of original jokes and gags which created surprise and the unexpected. About hour into the movie, I felt I had seen enough as it was getting dark and depressing. So set it aside and watched later It when back to its charming unpredictable nature in the last 30 minutes that makes it a great movie. Having an adorable mouse helps a lot.

Violent but entertaining
Mouse hunt is a slapstick violent style film about two brothers who go to extreme lengths to get rid of a mouse. The younger brother Lars is meek and lives in a world of plans which he never carries out much to the annoyance of his wife. Ernie is an ambitious professional chef who runs his own restaurant. A series of events which includes fatally poisoning the city mayor leave the two brothers with no choice but to live in a dilapidated house they inherited from their father. The house comes with a resident mouse which does not take kindly to their attempts to kill it and outwits them by running in front or behind the walls etc and triggering events which leave the brothers badly hurt. On one occasion Ernie chases the mouse up the chimney and gets stuck and the mouse finds a way back to the ground floor and opens the gas valve and when Lars strikes a match the resulting explosion sends Ernie flying up the chimney like a human cannon ball and flying 100 feet into a lake. When the brothers discover the house is valuable, they increase their efforts to kill the mouse which destroys everything but has a happy ending.

Love this film....
I used to have this film on VHS a video years ago but sold it on when we moved over to DVD. Looking through Amazon I saw it available to purchase and thought “yeah why not”.Watched it the first night it arrived and it was as funny as I remember it. Nathan Land and Lee Evans are brilliantly funny and play off each other so well. It’s a wonderful laugh out loud comedy. Glad I bought it.

As funny as I remembered it although it does contain cruel practices that could upset
Just glad I could get a copy of this movie as that was quite a challenge before a thorough search of Amazon. Funny and slap-stick comedy, a way to relax and forget about other things. There are some elements that are cruel so younger children should not watch even though the cruel elements are meant for adults who can understand their inclusion within the film's settings.

A love letter to Laurel and Hardy
Snuggled up in a B&B on the Isle Of Arran after dark, my girlfriend and I ran our fingertips over the limited video selection in our room and picked out 'Mousehunt'. What a great selection - we laughed ourselves silly.Certainly on one level 'Mousehunt' is a loving homage to Laurel and Hardy and isn't shy about it - in one scene Nathan Lane's Oliver Hardy-like character simpers at some ladies and flickers his tie at them. But even if you think you don't like Laurel and Hardy, I would be surprised if you didn't love this film. Two brothers inherit their dead father's long established string making factory. The cynical, world-weary older brother (Nathan Lane) can't wait to be rid of it, but the younger, more naive and trusting brother (Lee Evans) is more loyal to family tradition. It transpires that they have also been left a house - but they go to look at it and it turns out to be a crumbling mansion in desperate need of repair. Things look black until they discover that the house is a shining (if shabby) example of a much-revered architect's work. All they have to do is fix it up and sell it to the highest bidder. There's only one problem:-THE MOUSE.To be fair to the mouse, all he's doing initially is living in the house and minding his own business, but once the brothers discover him, they make it their ill-advised mission to remove what they see as a potentially undesirable non-period feature. In one incident, the younger brother walks into the string factory and sets the machinery going. A thread from his clothing gets hooked onto part of the moving machinery. When he notices he's hooked, he tries to free himself and in doing so gets hooked onto something else, and then onto something else, until... well, you'll have to see it for yourself. This is a masterful dialogue-free silent-movie moment which is not only a brilliant opportunity for Lee Evans to showcase his famous skills as a physical comic - it's also a mini pre-run of the main mouse plot, as the apparently simple task of ridding the house of a mouse escalates into a disaster of titanic proportions.I was actually reminded of this film when a work colleague mentioned that he too was trying to outwit a mouse, and I tried to buy the film when I next ventured out to the high street. To my amazement, I couldn't find it anywhere and ended up having to come here to Amazon to find it. There's no telling how much longer it will be available for, so, I suggest you buy it while you can.

Laurel & Hardy meets Tom & Jerry
This is a lovely story with hilarious and clever slapstick. If you are a softie for realistic furry animals (as I am) the mouse will melt your heart - he/she is very clever too. It’s suitable for all the family.
