This absolutely made my life better. As a renter, I don't have control over where the router is (trust me, I've asked). I run this to my window closest to the router, and I get 5 bands, all the time. I can use the internet quickly, all the time. Plus if I knew the passwords to the nearest 12 neighbors, I could log on to their wifi, as it shows theirs. I adore this thing. Best money I ever spent.

needs a better explanation on the aux power plug as to why its needed and where to obtain the power ie what do you plug it into

This still works really well with an old school Bear Extender even as recently as the summer, fall and winter of 2016 it made the difference of me having verses not having internet in my van when I was living in for four months. The Bear Extender I bought years ago and just used it this pass year on Nomadic Fanatic's recommendation he was right it still works well!
