I was thinking about making this type of set for him over the last year or so but found that this pre-made one includes enough to spark interest in the child, and thus, it is well worth the money. For a beginner set, you get enough materials to at least spark a child's interest. The connection points along the knife switches are sturdy, and the terminals screw in tightly enough without any fear of damage or breakage in the items. The terminations on the wires are well-made, and the lamp bases work perfectly. The propeller is a little snug on the motor shaft, but for the price of the kit, you just can't be the spark that will result. I highly recommend this set for anyone who has access to a child that's four years old or older. However, there were two issues. It came with 5 small light bulbs as shown but one of them didn't work. Also, the compass doesn't work properly. The needle doesn't point north like it should.
