I feel really stupid. I left a bad review because it did not seem to have come with a battery. But it did. I did not look in the bottom of the pacageing. So to the supplyer I am so sorry. I should be mote careful as one never knows id they are an evil mega corperation or a mom and pop shop like us. And reviews can make a or break a business. Sorry about that. It works great. Ussing it in my grow tray to grow Romain lettus seeds.Did not come with a battery. Frustraighting. Its one of the little round ones like in a garage door opener. So u csnt use it out of the box. I am so frustraighted with amazon. I order about five things a week. All the asian electronics stuff doesnt come with bateries and worse adapters or power chords and even directions.

Simple, compact, and functions properly, this is a handy tempture/ humidity gage. It can go anywhere and has large display so it's easy to read. For the price, cant be beat.

Simply put, this thermometer/hygrometer is a great value! I was looking for an inexpensive hygrometer to monitor the humidity in multiple dry-food storage containers. I first purchased a Caliber III and a Caliber IV humidor hygrometers due to their reputation for accuracy. However, they are expensive, so I wanted to find a less expensive hygrometer to keep a hygrometer in each food container.I purchased five units to test, and to compare to the more expensive Caliber hygrometers. I was impressed with the five Amir Digital Thermometer/Hygrometers, and while the Caliber units seem to be superior, at approximately 1/3 the cost, I decided that the less expensive units satisfied my needs.I purchased 15 additional units, but found five of them were defective. One had a defective display, the other four failed to "turn on" after inserting the battery. I managed to get three of the four to work after inserting a cardboard spacer on top of the battery, so the battery would be pushed slightly further into the battery compartment. When Amir was informed of my experience, they offered to refund the cost of all five units! I ordered five replacement units, and all five worked as intended. I am very impressed with Amir's customer service!!!As an indication of their accuracy, I tested 22 units standing together on a table. All 22 show the same temperature, +/- 1 degree F. As expected, the humidity readings aren't as consistent, but acceptable. 20 of the units show the same humidity, +/- 2 %. The fact they read very close to one another does not prove accuracy, but it is a good sign of consistency. As for the other two units, they are "outliers". One unit shows a relative humidity 4% outside of the band of the 20, the second unit shows a relative humidity 7% outside the band of the 20.Tips for getting the most accurate humidity readings. The ambient air enters the back of the unit to reach the humidity sensor, so the back must be kept clear. That means it shouldn't be hanging on a wall, nor laid flat on a surface. It also takes much longer for the relative humidity to stabilize than for the temperature, so allow plenty of time for it to stabilize after moving it to a new location. That is why I chose to keep a hygrometer in every storage container, so it remains in a stable state.In summary, the Amir Digital Thermometer/Hygrometer is a great value! If you happen to receive a defective unit, customer service will take care of it. Customer Service is GREAT!

The product itself is fine, but I am very annoyed that all I received was the thermometer in it's box. No battery (which the listing says is included) and no instructions (which the listing also says will be included).I would like to rate it lower because I am annoyed with the listing, but the product itself totally works and for the price and since I already had a battery in my house that I could use, I have to give it a fair rating.

well, from the ad, it looked like it would fit the bill, however NOT!!! Its too small...the display is simple, but there were the following problems. It came with instructions that said AAA battery or button battery...Shoot, there is NO AAA slot space AND, it doesnt state the type of button battery. I had a bunch so kept trying different ones. One powered it up, but the back would not close so I wont bother. Its flimsy...too flimsy. and really, its cheaply made. I cant see where this would help anyone really. Too many problems. Its going back. I consider this a defective device its so flimsy and it doesnt work as intended.

Gaaaah! I first bought an AccuRite magnetic which gave humidity readings 16, 21, 27 and 62 seemingly at random and with nothing in between so I knew that was wrong. Bought another style of AccuRite, and it did the same thing but the two of them, side by side, never agreed even within the same range. I saw this one on Amazon and took a chance, but I bought two because if these didn't agree, they would both go back. If so, I have a backup. Well, they agree! And since, I also found my very old but accurate dial type which had gone MIA, and these are consistent with that.I bake all our own bread, and do so via machine, so humidity is really important since you're not getting feedback from handling the dough. These tell me right where the humidity level is, so I've had no misses. I also make my own pasta, so again, a thing where humidity very important.So this is a case where something priced low beats the heck out of another more well known brand that's priced higher.Otherwise, it's a flip-out stand that's not super sturdy probably, but the bottom is flat as backup. But either way, do put it in a place where it won't get knocked around (a trade-off I'm happy to make). Also be aware that the little button battery that comes with it (1130 which can be bought cheap here on Amazon) is in the teensiest little ziplock known to man, so it's easy to miss seeing when you pull the unit itself out of its box.Based on 2 out of 2 both working right, I do recommend this product.

I bought this for my music room to use in conjunction with the room humidifier I just bought so that my guitars have the right levels of humidity. I would have had to spend two or three times as much on the humidifier if I wanted one that came with a built in hygrometer. Now I can see for sure when the humidity is just right and it has been easy to keep it at 45% to 55%. Definitely recommend.

Thermometer is somehow accurate, hygrometer does not work at all.
