Hard to Use.
I am in charge of updating our Organization Chart every month. It usually takes me about an hour to do the work. In the hopes of making my work more efficient I purchased this. But as it turns out this program actually made my work more inefficient. It is very difficult to customize the chart. You cannot move the boxes around and you cannot create boxes for Departments. For example if I wanted to add an HR Dept and put my name under it I cannot. I can only put my direct supervisor above me and then people under me. I took the training course online but it didn't cover the whole program. It stopped about 75% of the way and then it was asking me to pay the extra to upgrade the software. I have tried to learn this program but it is still more time consuming than Visio. I don't recommend this to anyone. I have now gone back to using Visio. It may take longer but at least I can costumize my org chart the way I want it.

Using OrgChart 5 is Completely undocumented territory
I purchased this old version because I had used previous versions many years ago and found it to be a handy tool. Although it was initially used for creating departmental orgcharts for our company I soon discovered that with a little imagination it could be applied to diagram other hierachial structures as well. My favorite application was mapping our company's computer switch ports to individual users. It proved to be an excellent way of keeping track of which switch port was connected to which office and user. The program then was much less sophisticated and very flexible. When I saw the program for such a cheap price I figured it might be useful in my home for charting things such as stock accounts, IRAs etc among other things. Although it did not specifically say that it would work with Windows 7 I figured I'd give it a try since it supposedly works on Vista. The program loaded successfully, but is not as intuitive as before. Certain functions I have not thus far been able to successfully use. I don't know whether my problems are due to incompatabilities with Windows 7 or my own ignorance of how this newer beast works. I took a chance and only further experimentation will determine if I wasted my money, however what annoys me the most is that all the help and tutorial functions were web based and the company removed those web pages from the net. I didn't buy the program specifically for it's intended purpose. If I had I wouldn't have purchased such an outdated version. I bought it as a creative tool to solve little problems at home, however without any support or documentation the program may be totally worthless to me. I only gave the program 2 stars because I know how clever and innovative it was for it's time, but I am disappointed that a company that produces so many other current products doesn't even leave a few lousy pages of documentation on their server ...even Microsoft hasn't stooped that low (yet).

Fantastic!
I had wrestled - and painfully I might add - creating organizational charts in PowerPoint. I was searching for a better tool when I came upon OrgChart by OfficeWork software. This software has been fantastic. OrgChart Pro v5 enabled me to create my company's org charts in about half an hour - whereas I previously spent at least half a day using PowerPoint.OrgChart gives the ability to add custom data fields and format the chart's appearance. The calculations for headcount were very easy to use, and because they were automatic that, too, saved me a lot of time. Publishing to PowerPoint was very fast, and everyone has given great feedback. Best of all the changes and updates to the org charts have been very easy to make - which has saved many hours of frustration. I am very, very pleased with this product.

Best in class!
I have worked with Visio and PowerPoint (as a power user) for years and have found OrgChart to be a vastly better solution for making org charts. In our case we created the org chart from an excel spreadsheet. Now when we have personnel changes I update the spreadsheet and use the `synchronize' button to automatically update the chart. Since OrgChart publishes to PowerPoint and Visio we still have all of the publishing options we need, but everything takes a lot less time, and we also have a lot more control over chart appearance. I enthusiastically recommend it.
