Streetwise Shanghai Map - Laminated City Center Street Map of Shanghai, China Map – Folded Map, April 1, 2014

Streetwise maps are terrific travel aids. My husband and I have used several now for other cities and each time marvel at how we ever travelled without them. This map makes self-guided tours ( and even guided ones) much easier and faciliates use of public transportation, especially the subway because you can tell from the maps where the subway station is located above ground. We used our map regularly to use the very convenient and efficient Shanghai subway system to get around. Given the many traffic jams in Shanghai, subways often work better than taxis. In the summer, the subways are very well air conditioned, which is also a major benefit.The only weakness we noted for our Shanghai map was that it was slightly outdated. This city is growing and changing at a stunning rate and so even a 2009 map is outdated for 2010!

I love the Streetwise maps. I get them for any city I travel to as a tourist if they are available. They fold and unfold so easily, don't take up much space, and are easy to refer to quickly while you are on the move. The map contains an overall city map as well as an enlarged section of the more-traveled downtown areas. There is also a subway map portion included. They are quite sturdy, being plastic coated, and don't get worn out with continuous use.

I have used many streetwise maps...this one peeled a bit, but in fairness, it was a rainy day...still I never had the ends separate before. Would buy again though...the best maps ever... wish there were more Asian cities!

Great Little Map, surpass where others fall through. Laminated and easy to read. It doesn't include Chinese characters so you can't use it to move around when interacting with locals. However, it provides more details and landmarks that many maps don't include. The subway lines overlaying the maps are also indispensable. Probably the most up to date map of this level of detail available at the time of this review. Very easy to pack away when you've figured out your route.

Used it in my last trip to Shanghai and it was very useful and easy to find my way. Very light and easy to have quickly ready from your handbag when you walk in the city.

A very nice map to stick in your pocket as you wander around Shanghai. If you pair this with a cheap compass (to orient yourself to north-south-east-west) you can get around the city pretty easily.

This is an okay general guide. It's a pocket sized over view with enough detail to get you to the general area where you need to go. Good to have the areas' names written in larger letters. The lamination is really good and will protect it well.

You need to have a map and this was a good one. It was raining everyday, so this map was a good choice for us.

My first impression of the map was not good, but actually out in Shanghai where is was in daily use I now rate it as excellent. It had all the appropriate places and information mapped on the selected maps and the metro too. Sturdy and laminated so could take it anywhere and mark it, and bring it back good as new. Well done.

Mein dreitägiger Aufenthalt in Shanghai wurde durch eine Kombination von Stadtplänen erleichtert. Diese hier gehörte dazu, wäre aber alleine nicht ausreichend gewesen, da auch in ihr nicht alle Straßen verzeichnet sind.
