Works for me
These racks are the perfect fit for my pans. They seem sturdy enough BUT there are some sharp edges and they are not quite flat. Neither of these issues will affect their use, but they are annoying so they got 3 stars.

Fine for a cooling rack and surprisingly heavy duty
I purchased these about 4 months ago.My intent was not to use them as just cooling racks but in the oven as well for steaks and such rather than a broiling pan. Easier to clean. When they arrived they were neatly packaged and surprisingly heavy duty. Much sturdier than I was ever expecting. I use dollar tree racks to cool my cookies and some antique ones from my grandmother.I needed something to stand up in the oven. These have done great. I did notice that recently one of my 2 has started to rust. A little worried about that. I am going to get some steel wool and see if I can clean it up.Overall for what I bought and what I got I am very happy. They are the size described and they would make top notch cooling racks for any kitchen.*March 17th, 2013 - Steel wool cleaned up the rust nicely. They look as good as new.*May 24th, 2014 - We have a new home and a dishwasher. I wanted to update and let everyone know that these have held up very well to washing on both the top and bottom rack of the dishwasher and come very clean.*June 2015 - These are still in the same condition that they were a year ago. Because we had had these for so long without issue I won't update next year. Happy shopping.

Commercial Quality; PERFECT Size--Ideal for Cooking for Two
I just got these last week and I've already used them about 20 times (I cook a LOT). I needed these for a "smaller footprint" cooling rack for my husband's favorite breakfast treat (extra crispy hash browns) and these are IDEAL. The quality surpassed my expectations for the price and I'm very happy with their size, rigidity, and usefulness--actually, I could not be happier. Real world size of these racks? 7-7/8" x 10".I even used one of the racks on a small cookie sheet inside my toaster oven to crisp a piece of reheated fried chicken and it worked GREAT, allowing the excess grease to drain away onto the cookie sheet, rather than into hubby's tummy. That's a win in my book--he liked the extra crispiness and I liked the considerable oil reduction. It's AMAZING how much extra fat drained harmlessly away. I think it would be great for roasting small quantities of meats, as well, though mine will be mainly used for "cooling" jobs like hashbrowns, cookies, etc. These are much higher quality racks than I was expecting for the price and they're strong enough to double as a trivet. Highly recommended for versatility AND utility!Have a question about these cooling racks? Leave a comment & I'll be happy to help you, if I can.

Thick and heavy, but goofy, mis-aligned grid on one!
One rack is perfectly lined up, but the other one is, shall we say, a little off. The end bars were soldered on about 1/8 th of an inch too close to the end and this threw off the others. OK, this made the bar with the "feet" a little bit tilted, (not bent), but none of this interfered with its intended purpose. Yes, as noted, this is 8" x 10" and will fit into a 9" x 13" quarter sheet pan with space all around. I like that the "feet" are 3/4" tall which allows for great circulation and crispy coated food. I use this for baked coconut shrimp and panko coated chicken strips. Do turn the food over to get the best browning on both sides. Breads, buns and especially things that can't go in a toaster, get very nicely toasted with this rack on top of the other rack in my toaster oven. The bars in the toaster oven are too wide and things fall through. The little squares on these racks are 1/2" x 1/2". These racks are thicker and heavier than they appear in the pictures, and a very good quality for the price.

Sturdy, Convenient Small Size; Baked Goods Can't Slip Through
I love this set of two quarter-sized baking racks. They are well-made and are built with a fairly close-wire grid that will prevent baked goods from slipping through, which is a big plus for me when it comes to cooling crackers, small cookies and the like.I am just as likely to use one of these grids in a pan to keep meat out of the drippings so it roasts rather than simmers in liquid. These racks are sturdy enough to hold a 7-10 pound cut of meat (haven't tried anything heavier yet) up from the bottom of a pan for dry-curing, which is something I often do and where it is desirable for air to circulate around the meat. Use these racks singly for small jobs or together for a half-sheet cooling application. I have a very similar full sheet rack for cooling larger batches of product and it has lasted me for at least five years. One caution: these racks are chrome-plated and the plating will not withstand the strong soap plus hot water of an automatic dishwasher. That's why I was shopping for new racks.

For $8, not a bad deal
My wife has cooling racks that she uses for cookies and such. I needed racks to fit in 9x13 aluminum roaster pans for use in my smoker, holding meat up out of the drippings. She'd have my hide if I used her cooling racks. For $8, what the heck I'd get my own. They definitely have a handmade look to them. Made in China. And they fit perfectly in the bottom of 9x13 aluminum roasters. If they last a year or so I'll more than get my money's worth out of them. If they last longer, I'll change the rating to 5 stars, but they just have a look like they have a limited lifespan. Time will tell!
