I bought this version because of the access card. Unfortunately, my university is not subscribed and I could not gain access to the videos and information I paid extra for.

A co-worker went to a training on this book and she gave me a crash course. I ordered one book for my schools special education department. Another co-worker love it too. So I ordered a copy just for me. It is a great resource where you can assess students on different reading areas at one time. It’s great data to use in the students IEP paperwork.

This is a wonderful resource for a reading specialist or reading teacher who need to analyze the reading behaviors of students. The new edition comes with 8 years of access to the etext where you can print the needed pages through a pdf link (without the copyright notice on the center on the page). You simply need to click the printer icon for a link to the full pdf file with all the easily printable pages. I am just beginning to use this resource with elementary students that I work with, but so far it has worked out well as the directions are very clear and precise. In addition to determining a child's three different reading levels, there is another section for grades 4 and up where teachers can analyze how students make inferences in text. As a professional reading educator, I would recommend this resource to other reading professionals or teachers who wish to assess students' reading levels.

The book is in good condition, however, one of the pages was loosely ripped from the spiral spine. Fortunately, I taped it in the book, so it wasn’t loss.

I regret buying this. As a private tutor, I utilize the QRI frequently. Since I no longer have a CDrom drive, I was excited to be able to access the student copies and scoring copies online and print as needed rather than spending time and energy photocopying. However, before I was able to use this, Pearson released a new version and it is now impossible for me to redeem my access code to access the online materials. Reading on here, it seems that even if that had been successful, it still might not have been useful. Not only were the instructions for registering the digital access useless, but the directions for accessing technical assistance were also useless. After spending several hours on this, I finally managed to send Pearson an email that I suspect they will likely ignore. I essentially have an $85 paperweight. I am hesitant to invest in the QRI 7 because I have 0 trust in being able to actually access what I paid for.
