100% Satisfied Awesome Security Camera!!
Thank you Tofucam!! We just ordered this camera, and it already has served it's purpose for us. We chose this camera because our garage kept getting broken into at night, and we needed a camera with night vision capability. We suspected it was our neighbor because he knew when we weren't home, but we weren't sure. We keep tools, and copper pipe in the garage, and we noticed things missing, so we decided to install a security camera to try to catch the thief, and it didn't take long. The camera came nicely packaged, and very easy to set up. I was surprised to see how compact this camera is. The resolution of the picture is excellent, and that includes the night vision feature, which is what we used to catch our intruder, who did turn out to be our neighbor. The video was turned over to the local police, and the mystery of who was stealing our tools and piping is solved. Thanks to the Tofucam. I highly recommend this camera to anyone who needs an easy to install, and user friendly security camera. I received this product in exchange for my honest, an unbiased review.

I was offered this same camera at a substantial discount by a different vendor. I had previously purchased a different camera from that vendor and based upon my feedback for that purchase, the vendor asked me to review this camera. I own other security cameras that I use in and around my home, so think I am in a good position to compare the features of this camera to this others.Quite simply, this is an extremely disappointing camera. This is a Tofucam N1 camera. (The camera is still available from two other vendors on Amazon as of today, January 5, 2015.) The company's website [...] claims this is appropriate for "home security, kids, elder and pet care." It is not. Here is why:First, despite the company's claims, the images from the camera are ONLY accessible as long as your phone is on the same WiFi network as your camera. You cannot access the images from a remote location, such as through a data connection on your phone. If you check the app (either iOS or Android, I tried both), there is NO login required. That is because the images are not sent through a central server, as you find with most other security cameras. The only way you will get alerts or be able to access the camera's image is by staying on the same network. For a baby monitor application, this may be acceptable. But for a security camera, definitely not.Second, there is a setting on the app for either "Night," "Day" or "Auto" mode. In Auto mode, I would expect the camera to automatically switch on its IR illumination so that you could see in a dark room. No, that does not happen. Instead, it stays in whatever mode it already is in. So if it is in Day mode, when the lights turn off, all you see is a black image. All of my other cameras have no problem with this transition. I am very surprised that this one is not able to.Third, this is a very expensive camera compared to others of similar size, and much better functionality. It is over twice as much as the camera I have made by a major manufacturer that offers much better features for a general security camera.Fourth, the time on the camera is wrong. At least when it connects to the network the first time, it does not automatically pick up the network time, but instead has the camera's default time, which is several years ago.Fifth, the camera is not an ONVIF camera. That means, you cannot use it with standard open source security software, such as iSpy. Instead, you are stuck with the very poor app produced by Tofucam. It also means that if you have a mixed environment, with cameras made by other vendors, you will not be able to integrate this camera into the software your other cameras use. Finally, I am happy to say that the vendor who asked me to review this camera and I have been in communication throughout my two weeks of testing. Based on my feedback, they decided to no longer offer this camera. I applaud that decision. I can only hope that the others who are offering this camera for sale do not fool potential customers into believing that they are getting a camera that will actually perform well for any of the advertised home security or related applications.
