I picked this set up to replace a pair of Kyocera ceramic knives I had been using for a couple years until they were finally past their prime. I was very happy with the Kyoceras but didn't think the current cost of a complete set ($80-$90) was a value considering how long this technology has been available. I reach for ceramic knives on a very regular basis while cooking and appreciate how they spare my steel knives from wear and tear on simple jobs.My review of the Chef Splendid knives is based on about 6 days of daily usage.The overall build quality of the Chef Splendid set is very good. The knives fit snugly and evenly inside the provided sheaths, which you'll want to keep them in at all times considering how razor sharp these are and how relatively brittle ceramic is compared to steel. One characteristic noticed right away is that the handles are very nicely gripped and evenly weighted with the blade. Compared to the Kyocera, which was way too light and blade heavy, this is a major ergonomic advantage.There were zero cosmetic defects on the knives and the blades are very evenly and finely sharpened. The knives passed the thin tomato slice test, quickly puncturing the skins and producing extremely thin slices without any smashing.They cleaned up very easily as expected and dry very quickly. A nice benefit of ceramic is not having to worry about the acids in food degrading the blade, so don't feel guilty if these sit on your cutting board with tomato or orange juice on them for a while. I also intend to disregard the dishwasher warning on these - as long as they are placed on the top rack, they will be just fine. Just warn the person unloading the dishwasher!

I was looking for a set of ceramic knives and came across these and did not hold out much hope that for the price they would be a lasting buy. I was wrong. They came beautifully packaged in a sleek black box and each knife has a Ninja-esque blade cover. The entire set is in a matte black color and looks great in my kitchen. I was able to put the knives to use right away and was very impressed with how they cut through my vegetables and cuts of meat. The arrived quickly (within days of my placing the order) and I liked that I was notified within a few hours of placing the order that my knives were on their way to me. I will certainly use this vendor again. I have added a few pictures so other shoppers can see my purchase.

Cheap product quality. One of the knives had stains/marks on the blade so I tried washing it and the blade came right out of the handle. I tried to put it back in but it was wiggly and loose and couldn't be functional. Tried to get the item replaced but all they'll do is refund it, so I'd have to pay for shipping again. Nope!

The knifes are falling apart..... fast!

Good knifes in a beauty package, I have been using them for 2 month and I wish to make them sharper but I don't know is it possible with ceramic knifes.

Fell in love with Ceramic knives a few years ago when we were given a gift set from a trip to China. These are amazing! Heft and balance almost makes me think they are not just ceramic. Very sharp and love the look. Keep them in their sheaths and never have an issue leaving them in the drawer. Will definitely buy them again should the need arise or to expand what we have.

Awesome knives, great set. lightweight and still very strong.These are the best knives I've ever had. They're extremely sharp and slice right through anything like butter. I have all the best brand knives, but these are better with excellent ergonomics. The handle is perfectly designed to fit in the hand with great comfort and doesn't slip when it's wet.I would highly recommend the Chef Splendid knives set to a friend, and give as gift.

Purchased this set of 3 ceramic knives as I have started to get into cooking and needed a step up from a cheap starter set. Very pleasantly surprised at the high quality at a reasonable price. Good balance and comfy handle lets you chop large quantities of meats or veggies without getting tired. The ceramic keeps it's edge longer and slices cleaner than stainless. Just don't try hacking through bones or anything too hard.
