Delicious sauce lands between Huy Fong Sriracha and Mae Ploy Sweet Chili Sauce
I read an opinion piece by Dominique Zamora on Foodbeast today that is titled "Why Tabasco Is - and Always Will Be - Better than Sriracha."Sad times for ol' Tabasco for sure. Their marketing team is in overdrive, trying to stanch the bleeding. Where do you go after Green Pepper, Habanero, Chipolte and Garlic Pepper? I think the problem is Sriracha is cheaper for restaurants and food trucks to stock than Tabasco -- and the bottle is bigger.I stock both Huy Fong Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce and Tabasco brand Pepper Sauce - Original Red at my house but that doesn't prevent me from trying new sauces. There's an Asian grocery store we frequent where I have a standing $20 adventurer shopping list. I buy ethnic foods - things I've never had before and things I've never even heard of before - so long as the total doesn't exceed $20. When I find a winner, I come to Amazon to add it to my Subscribe & Save shopping list.Life is too short for a routine menu. That's how I recently discovered Lingham's Hot Sauce with Ginger & Garlic , a sauce imported from a Malaysian company with roots back to 1908, which places it closer to Tabasco brand Pepper Sauce on the nostalgic culinary timeline than the relatively-new, 30-ish Huy Fong Sriracha.Lingham's is lightly sweet with a ginger bite/tingle and a spicy, garlic finish. The sauce almost reaches the spiciness of Huy Fong Sriracha with a consistency that is more similar to Mae Ploy Sweet Chili Sauce .So far, we've tried Lingham's sauce on pork roast, pizza, venison stir-fry, wet-scrambled eggs, roast chicken, white corn tacos, bear sausage, elk steaks and Oregon salmon. We even drizzled a bit on whipped cream cheese to enjoy with crackers.Anything we've previously drizzled with Huy Fong Sriracha or Tabasco brand Pepper Sauce is being introduced to Lingham's. So far, we haven't come across a bad combination yet, making Lingham's another delicious addition to our hot sauce lineup.I've posted pictures that show the difference between Lingham's sauce and Huy Fong Sriracha and Mae Ploy Sweet Chili Sauce. BTW: I purchased my bottle for $4 and recommend the sauce at that price. I've sent a request to Amazon to start carrying this product and include it in their Subscribe & Save program.Rating: Five stars

Perfect balance.
Sweet, hot, ginger, garlic. Simple and with great balance, nothing overwhelming - especially the vinegar which really ruins so many sauces (like Tabasco that the previous reviewer mentioned.)One of my favorite snacks is to heat a small bowl of rice with a small handful of cashews and a teaspoon of coconut oil in the microwave, then top with this sauce. Good side-dish, too.
