Want to clean and polish it.** A: it should, if the surface is rough it may soak up quite a bit of the product initially though. I'd bring a couple heavy duty rags to apply it evenly. **Q: Can this me used on an unsealed limestone hearth?** A: Yes, but this will not really seal your stonework. Also note this cleaner is no more effective than basic soap and water cleaning. If it is new limestone, I recommend getting it professionally sealed first or at least using a basic sealer like Black Diamond Nex-Gen Natural Stone Penetrating Sealer and then using a stonework polish if you want some luster. **Q: Can this be used on floors?** A: Hi Patricia, It absolutely can be used on floors. I use this on my polished travertine floors all the time. **Q: do you need a separate sealer or will this be able to seal just on its own?** A: Use the Black Diamond sealer initially and then you can use this product to clean and seal.
