I would not install any other rod holder on my boat.... These are hands down the best rod holders I have used in 40 years of boating experience .A novice can install these and will not be intimidated. Fit and finish is second to none. True value for your hard earned dollar! If you have adequate access below your covering board, (open gunwal) you can use a monkey wrench for the lockdown nut as opposed to ordering the ratchet tool they offer at an additional cost of $75. If your gunwal walls are closed you would be better served using screw in holders...I have used these holders in multiple boats I have owned over the years. No regrets, highly recommend.
