Since my husband and I are both tradies and tinkerers we liked the idea of this to encourage our young relatives to share our love of mechanical stuff. I think a toddler will be awed to see how moving this gear results in that one way over there moving too. An older kid might be less easily entranced. But the parts seem a bit small and brittle to be in toddler hands. The girl we gave it to is four years old and I think that's about the right age. We'll get another when the next youngster hits age four too. I'm guessing 4-6 is about the ideal age.I like that this is quiet and educational. There are too many noisy pointless toys out there for kids. I want to be the person who gifts wholesome toys! This was a gift I could be proud of.

I saw so many reviews on this game with good ratings however I was pretty disappointed.The challenge cards give you a placement which is easy enough, however there should be a good of sorts as it’s difficult to see exactly where the initial pieces should be placed to continue the puzzle. I do not think a 6 year old would do better.We have a collection of IQ Games and this is far from anything really well thought out. My four year old does the Temple Connection up to the medium level, with recommended age starting at 7.This has a good base for a fat brain toy. It just needs a bit more tweaking. And the challenge cards are so easy to spill out all over, especially for the little people.

I bought this as a gift for 5 and 7 year old. Keep them busy for quite a while. Very much loved game.
