Needed this for work, it was a seamless swap out, and much lower price than what we were being offered elsewhere. Would definitely buy again.

I have about about 350 HID readers deployed in many different environments and my failure rate has been about 1%. I have some in the heat and direct sun light in Phoenix, AZ, some outside in the snow, rain and -40 deg temperature in Wisconsin and other states. I also have some within a cold storage faculty with it's always 32 deg.My failure rate has been about 1% and that includes some failures causes by lighting.

The Factory stated that these are demos that should not be on the market. These may or may not work depending on the configuration. Purchase at your own risk. The two that I purchased do not work.

These readers are very temperamental. They often do not unlock the door. Users find they are somewhat more reliable if they pull their card out of their lanyard holder and rub it firmly against the reader for 1-2 seconds, but even then they are unreliable. When the reader won't let you in, it doesn't matter how many times you try at that door - it gets stuck in a lockout loop. When this happens switching to another entrance seems to be the only way to get in. Our IT team will review the logs and say that you were granted access, although the door did not unlock as a result of the scan. These problems are not isolated to specific doors or kinds of doors.Our IT department reports that the vendor has only vague feedback that doesn't help with troubleshooting, and they are generally slow to respond or dismissive of problems as user error. The only user feedback on the reader itself is a LED, which flashes a lot of different colors very quickly. Due to the speed it is very hard to tell which colors were displayed, so it is impossible to tell what is going on or if there is any meaning to the flashing. The tones are all the same regardless of whether the user is validated or not, so that is not helpful.The one thing that is better from our prior system is the buttons on the units that have keypads. The buttons on this unit are NOT soft silicone, so users don't have the problem where they think they pressed a button when they were just squishing the side of it without making positive contact with the circuit board underneath.

Had to charge my Samsung Note 4, two or three times a day before I got this battery. Now I use it all day and still have 70% battery life. It is huge and heavy but that's not a problem as I use my work iPhone for calls, text, etc... I use the Note for the Internet and a time clock app for my two small businesses.

The Smart Card Readers were exactly what were described and what we needed to support our project. Exceptional service in getting them to us in a timely manner.
