Information is stored in "non-volatile" memory which means your information is safe. You can take out the battery at any time and all information will be retained. **Q: Does this lock in case it is lost?** A: You need a password to get into the device. That is the one you would set up and the only one you have to remember. Because it's not connected to the internet, nobody can put software hacking tools on the device. Also, because the information is encrypted, you can't get the information off the chip so your data is safe. There is a timeout feature so if you put the device down and forget to turn it off, it would automatically shut off. The default for the timeout is 60 seconds, however, you can adjust this up or down under the options menu. **Q: Can you store names and addresses on this device?** A: The device asks for 3 pieces of information: Description (anything up to 30 characters); Username (anything up to 64 characters) and Password (anything up to 32 characters). You can put whatever information you want in these fields such as PINs, security codes etc. If you wanted to put a name and address in one of these fields you would be able to do it. I once created an entry and added the number of where I parked at an airport.
