I was on the fence with these mats, because there were some things that I actually really like about them and some things that I don't. I will start with what I don't like and the first aspect might be helpful for potential buyers to know. In my personal opinion $19.95 seems a bit high for these, because the actual makeup of both sheets is very reminiscent to a piece of cardboard since it has a corrugated layer in between. I was a little disappointed by this, since I thought they were actual solid plastic mats. I intend to use them more often for family outings and I'm not sure how long this material will last. Now don't get me wrong, they don't seem totally flimsy, but the corrugated layer worries me that they won't hold up for too long after toting them around a few times. The other thing that bothered me was the quality of the painted design. The blue gingham is really nice (I've always been a fan of this pattern), but when I went to take a label off one of the mats, the paint came right up. I'm just hoping this was a one time thing and the rest of the paint doesn't start peeling off after extended use. I guess we will see.Now onto the good things–Besides wishing these were made out of sturdier material, they are extremely convenient to have around. I'm the kind of personal that gets really skeeved out by outside picnic tables. Sometimes we go to sit at one at the zoo or the park and I'll find sticky ketchup, crumbs, and things that I can't even seem decipher at times. I always have to take it upon myself to clean the table and even then I put tons of paper towels over it, since we are talking about outside surfaces that squirrels and birds would potentially land on. That's why these mats really come in handy. You can just place them down on the table and serve your food. They are completely waterproof , very easy to clean, and much more convenient than using a table cloth. Each mat (the pack comes with two) is 24x17 inches, but folds up to 12x17 inches. One suggestion to the manufacturer would to be to design them to fold twice to make them more compact for convenient carrying. The large surface is still nice either way, since they also work great for blanket picnics on the ground, especially for balancing beverages, etc. These also come in a large resealable plastic bag (reminiscent to a Ziplock) for easy storage. All in all, it's a nice product to have for family outings. I just think it needs a little improvement in certain areas. I've been working at someone's home where they are remodeling, which means not many clean places to eat lunch. This is such a life saver! Instead of eating on my lap, I can lay this down and not worry about my food getting dirty. When its just me I use one panel, (it comes with 2). I will say this is made of the same material they make political yard signs out of so its not totally durable, so I take a little extra care of mine. It comes with 2 huge Ziploc bags and both panels fit in one. Each mat is 24 inches by 17 inches and 12 in by 17inches when folded. Easy to clean with a Lysol wipe and thin enough to store in a car or anywhere without being in the way a whole bunch. Never eat on a dirty surface again!
