Saffy and Ollie (Simply Small) Board book – January 10, 2012

All of the Simply Small books are wonderful. This one has to do with sharing. The stories are gentle and simple, but have conflict and resolution. Perfect for babies and toddlers.

I highly recommend this book for parents of toddlers. This is my favorite of the books in this series, and I love to give it as a baby gift. My two-year-old knows it by heart now. All of the books in the series feature sweet characters, simple illustrations and minimal words, but the story in this one is the best, and it has a great lesson about sharing. Saffy the Giraffe has a rock that she loves to roll. Ollie the Elephant asks to play, and Saffy refuses. While Saffy is playing alone, the rock gets stuck ("Plonk!"), and Saffy asks Ollie for help. Ollie obliges, and they play together, which Saffy discovers is "fun, much more fun."

We love this book! Our 18 month old enjoys the story and the words and phrases are simple enough for a toddler to repeat and feel like they are reading. The story is about sharing- a message most toddlers benefit from.

This whole series of books is very visually appealing to infants and toddlers, and the story in Saffy and Ollie makes more sense than the stories in some of the other Paola Opal books. It's a nice message about sharing and helping out in very simple language. I like that these books have a nice rhythm with sparse, to the point text. My ten-month-old always pays close attention to these books. They are also very sturdy and withstand chewing!

My baby really enjoys looking at these images. And I don't get bored reading her this story. I have a couple Saffy books, and we both really enjoy reading and looking at them.

Great quality book. Nice and short to keep attention, yet teaches little ones.

perfect for toddlers, only issue are words in small font, but otherwise great! I'd love it if they made a big book for this series

Another book in the Saffy and Ollie series when Saffy learns to share her toys. Similar to the other books in structure and illustrations.

My son (age 3 1/2) loves these books! We started off with Saffy and now we're slowly collecting the other books in the series. The simple text and bright colors and illustrations are inviting to kids. My son loves to read the book back to me after I've read it to him (and he does a pretty good job of remembering the storyline!). Recommended!
