Washable, but very thick
When my dog has a stomach issue and no one is home, he very considerately gets as close to the outdoors as he possibly can before making a mess. This means I need doormats that are easy to clean. This one totally does the trick - throw it in the wash, air dry, and it's back to normal. However it is VERY thick. I actually couldn't use it in the spot I originally intended because the door couldn't clear over the top of the mat. I was able to find another location to use it where the door has more clearance. It has an unusual look, definitely very rustic.

Lighter weight than expected
Have yet to try this at the beach, but it seems like it should remove sand from shoes as needed. It looks exactly like the photo, but is lighter weight than expected. I have some concern that the wind may move it out of position.

very loose weave, easy to trip over
do not like these at all. if they were woven tighter, they'd be useful. these are too easy to trip over. nothing like what i expected (see Lee Valley for the good ones).
