is this raw?

We prefer to avoid the term "raw" since it has varying definitions and meanings for people. By using the lowest temperatures possible during drying/milling, the healthful phytonutrients in our ingredients and finished products are present, active, and optimally preserved.

There is no one size fits all drying method, but the common denominator is the use of low temperatures in an environment that is free of harmful elements like oxygen and light.

Whenever appropriate and most often, we use the gold standard of fresh freeze-drying. Along with fresh freeze-drying, we utilize several other specialized, low-temperature-drying techniques including cold temp vacuum-drying and ambient spray-drying (using carbon dioxide).  Each of these processes uses different temperatures that vary throughout, which are relatively low compared to the industry drying standards like drum-drying and high-heat spray drying.

What’s more important than the maximum temperatures used in processing is the maximum temperature that the actual ingredient material reaches during the drying process. By and large, the temperature of the ingredient itself does not go past 118°F unless it is beneficial to do so.

Is this product supposed to cake so hard I can’t get it out of the bottle? I want to get it out to grind up so I can use it, bottle could break.

Our products are tested for shelf life in their unopened state based on our recommended storage conditions (to store in a cool, dry location). The expiration date printed on the bottom of the bottle refers to unopened shelf life under these conditions and is generally 2-3 years from the date of manufacture.

Once opened, the shelf life varies depending on the amount of light, heat, and moisture to which the product is exposed, but can be up to the full shelf if handled properly. This can be quite variable from household to household depending on how your store your product (dark, cool, low humidity location best. Refrigeration may be beneficial in some cases).

Of note: several of our powders (Berry Power, Organic Beet Juice Powder) may be best used within 2-3 months under certain conditions.   Please keep in mind that the products do not become ineffective, they are just prone to a little caking once opened if any moisture is introduced (for these products, refrigeration is not recommended due to condensation). These are fresh juice powders without any additives so need to be handled with care!

do you have arginine/lysine content?
