Review: Hi ; This is an excellent product, expensive but good with exceptions . I used it in a well water system, approximately (40-60 psi range) my fittings were primarily stainless to stainless, but I had a couple of brass fittings also . The Exceptions : Gazoila is a wonderful, soft set product, easy to work with, but you MUST tape first , then apply the Gazoila over the Male taped threads . I used 2 full wraps of good high density tape . A brush ( supplied) makes easy application, and try and stay in the clockwise direction, the same as the tape . The other notable exception, even though soft set , it requires “dry time” . I went on the safe side and gave it a 24 hr set, with no water . This is for potable water , other elements, might be different, I.e. natural gas, propane, etc . One more thing “extremely low shelf life” for the money, no more then 1 yr !!! So check your dates . I hope this helps out . Regards ….

**Q: Does the lid have an attached brush applicator?  Thanks.**
A: The applicator brush is attached to the lid.

I have found that you need to use something like a stirring stick or tongue depressor to thoroughly mix the sealant.  The applicator brush isn't suitable for doing a really good job of mixing.  If you don't mix it well, the sealant doesn't work very well on pipe threads.

**Q: I need to seal gas pipes of my fireplace burner which sits hot in the fireplace. Would this do the job?**
A: This doesn't work over 600F. to see what temperature you'r hitting on the pipes (its accuracy is less than perfect on metals, but it does give a very good idea if you will be at or near the failure point).

**Q: can this be used safely on leaking faucet in kitchen sink?**
A: Yes, you can use this on a threaded connection on a kitchen faucet. However, it would be easier if you used teflon tape wound twice around the male connection threads. Gasoila is better when you have gas or oil connections (hence the name) where you couldn't use teflon because it would dissolve.

**Q: Can you use this to seal the pipe fittings for a gas stove?**
A: I don’t see why not.....I used it to seal pipe fittings on my gas furnace last year and I’m still alive and well.

I had to change the run on about 40' of natural gas line that involved about 12 fittings. I'm comfortable enough working with gas but I'd rather avoid it if I can. In this case I couldn't. I had always used standard pipe dope and never had a problem with it until I had to take the joints apart years later. The day before I start dismantling gas fittings, sealed with that rock hard dope, I read through my dictionary of 4 letter words to make sure there aren't any I forgot because I'm gonna need them all. I needed a few extra this time so I just made them up. Anyway, I'll get to the point. Gasoila is the greatest sealant I have ever used. There is no wait time from tightening the fitting to turning on the gas. This stuff stays soft for about a day and then hardens up a bit, but you can still scrape it with your fingernail. If I have to take of a fitting off 3 years from now I won't have to break my back breaking the seal. I actually called the company in Cleveland when I was using this stuff to ask them some questions. I was connected to a guy with a british accent and we had a nice chat. He took a lot of time with me and gave me a lot of information. I found out that the product can also be used on potable water lines. No more teflon tape! I tried it on the laundry tub sink trap that was leaking and it worked! This stuff smells nasty till it dries, it's messy but cleans off your hands with soap and water. I got some on my shirt but it didn't wash out in the laundry.
