**Q: I just found out that cocoa powder is really high in nickel content because of the refinery process. Is this cocoa powder high in nickel? Thanks !**
A: (Cadmium and Lead "Cd and Pb were evaluated in relation to the percent cocoa solids and to the reported origin of the cocoa powder and chocolate products. Cd ranged from 0.004 to 3.15 mg/kg and Pb ranged from <LOD to 0.38 mg/kg. Cd and Pb were significantly correlated with percent cocoa, with correlations varying by product type"...

**Q: Is this raw? What temperature is it heated to?**
A: No, our Cacao Powder is not raw. The beans are briefly roasted for flavor development and food safety purposes. While the exact processing details are proprietary, we are happy to report that it is gentle enough to preserve the valuable flavanols and other polyphenols that help made cacao the superfood it is! We use third party, independent labs to test the final product before packing it up and shipping it out.

**Q: Is this raw?**
A: Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and for your inquiry about our product. 

Currently, there are no FDA regulations or certifying agencies on “raw”, which is why we have moved away from having a raw icon or using the term raw on our packaging. Also, there is no single agreed upon temperature of exposure that determines a food’s classification as “raw.” That being said, we still use the same processing methods we have always used. Navitas Organics has used the term “raw” in the past to reflect our cold or low temperature and minimal processing techniques. We do our absolute best to monitor the processing of our foods in an effort to maintain their inherent, nutritionally dense properties.
