Review: For my tastes this is primarily made for chicken or fish; it's not sweet or based on tomatoes. - I lived for a time in Decatur, Alabama, the location of the original Big Bob Gibson's restaurant. BBQ is such a regional dish with as many variations as there are individual restaurants it would sometimes seem. This is a thin white sauce based on vinegar and pepper that I liked from the first time I tasted it at BBG. For me it's perfect on chicken or fish. Based on other reviews, however, it's apparently not everyone's cup of sauce. This white sauce doesn't smother the more delicate flavors of chicken and fish with a lot of sweetness like a heavy, tomato-based sauce might do. For new comers, it might be nice to be able to buy a three-pack of three different BBG-BBQ sauces to get an idea of what's out there. If you haven't grown up with this sauce, keep an open mind when you try it; you might like it as I do.
