Barkville Hands Free Reflective Running, Walking, Jogging and Hiking Dog Leash with Neoprene Adjustable Belt for Large and Small Dogs

This seemed great, but it broke after only 3 weeks. My dog does pull some, but what dog doesn't when you're running so I'm kind of bummed about having to get a new one.

This product seems rugged but the buckles on the waist are made of CHEAP plastic. My dog is only about 40 lbs and pulled towards some other dogs, the buckle snapped and my dog went running across the street. Luckily no traffic was coming but this product is NOT suitable for any dog that might ever pull on a leash as getting loose as a result of buckle failure can put the dog (or others) in very real danger. If this product was made with metal buckles around the waist it would be great but it is not. DO NOT BUY!

I chose this product because it was cheaper than the other running leashes I saw on Amazon although it looked exactly the same. I also really liked that it came with a collapsible water bowl because I have been running on more than one occasion and was unable to provide my dog with water because I just didn't have anything with me for her to drink out of. I was wary that since it was cheaper that it would be of inferior quality, but after using it several times, it is exactly what I wanted. It is comfortable on my waist even if my dog pulls (she definitely does). The collapsible bowl snaps onto the waist strap and is fairly secure (it came off once before a race, but then stayed on for the entire race after I readjusted). It is very convenient to have in the middle of a race or long run. It works well for my 60lb lab mix. We ran a 10K using the leash and the bowl and they both worked very well. The leash is not very reflective, so you definitely shouldn't rely on it to make yourself or your dog more noticeable at night.All in all, it's a good product. I bought it to run with my dog without tripping over her leash and it does the job perfectly. I definitely recommend it to anyone who runs with their dog. The collapsible bowl was a good add-on that I'm glad to have.The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I think the bowl could be secured better and I don't think the leash is very reflective.

This is the best running leash! I run 4 times a week with my rescue dog and I was looking for a hands-free leash that would be comfortable (he likes to run fast & far). This leash has literally been perfect! It has some padding on the waist part, which is comfortably and not too hot (I live in Florida). Also, the bungee is nice because it gives me time to react when he sees a squirrel. I also love the placement of the extra hook to hold when you want to make sure your dog is closer to you (crossing roads, when bikes pass, etc.). The location of this handle is the perfect length for me to reach and pull him closer. I've had it for a few months now and run regularly. I wouldn't change a thing about this leash & I look forward to many more runs with it!

RECONSIDER. I have a 40 pound dog. She lunged for a squirrel and the waist clip snapped in two. I really like this leash system so I wrote Barkville, asking for a replacement buckle. They did not respond. I bought another leash, planning to hook the two leads together to give my dog more room when appropriate. Three uses, one squirrel, SNAP! Waist buckle again. I'd send both back but my return expiration date passed five days ago. The design is great, the system works, but the buckle is a critical part. KEEP SHOPPING.

Make sure your dog is leash trained. Mine is just a puppy but very strong. Jerked on it and the buckle broke.

I was so excited for this item. It was a really short leash and I felt like I would step on my dog. The waist band was also too small for me. Seemed like good quality just not comfortable or long enough. Will be returning.

Leash and belt were of good quality material, and sewn together in way that makes me believe they will hold up to significant use. Other reviews noted that the buckle was not something they believed would hold up, but for the price of this unit I could buy a heavy duty metal or mil spec buckle and still not have as much invested as other brands. If you run or walk with your dog, this is definitely a product worth considering.The collapsible water bowl (aka the empanada as it is called in the house) was also a nice touch, and is easy to carry on a run
