Must-have history for Whitney Wolverine aficionados everywhere
The facts about this special pistol from the people who actually produced it. The author interviewed the principals and detailed virtually every aspect of production and design: the naming issues, complete serial numbers, pre- and post-production machinations, distributors, and the business decisions that ultimately sealed their fate. Antonio Taglienti in 150 pages gives us the defining word on this 1950s masterpiece-- the Whitney Wolverine .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol.

Surprisingly small
At only 159 pages, it's impressive how much information this book contains. The Whitney pistol, like many small production guns had many variations in markings and parts and the book covers the variations in great detail. There are factory photos, blue prints, advertising prints, information on boxes and all the usual miscellanea that a good collectors reference needs. A must have for anyone who owns a Whitney or is interested in them.

rare gun ahead of its time
today Olympic Arms sales the Wolverine. This gun, originally produced in 1956, by an employee at Pratt Whitney where the air craft was using a light weight aluminum prompted this design. They also made a plastic model from the mold to make sure the mold was correct and decided to make a functioning gun from the plastic model and they fired at least 1000 rounds through that.
