Powerful and Easy to Use — Great for Home Cleaning
I’m really impressed with the Kärcher K5. It has strong pressure, and the Vario Power and Dirtblaster wands make switching between cleaning modes super easy. The built-in hose reel is a big plus — no more tangled hoses! Perfect for cleaning patios, driveways, and even my car. Highly recommend!

Great company, excellent products
Third Karcher product. First two, a small pressure washer and a floor steam cleaner were as good as could be expected. Great German engineering and substantial build quality. I read the p.w. was built in Italy, but the label on the bottom says, as you would expect, made in China. The pressure is good, the wands are easy to use, simply connect the hose, turn on the water, relieve pressure and turn on and begin work. Came with TWO wands, a high pressure wand and an adjustable pressure wand. Both work very well, but the high pressure wand may be TOO powerful. That said, the unit came with the plastic front foot stabilizer plate cracked and then it promptly broke and fell off. I called Karcher and they sent me a replacement part, but then there was no way to replace it. So I called again, and much to my surprise Karcher offered free replacement of the entire P.W. Amazing. This is one of several companies who back up their products and I will continue to buy them for their quality, value and customer support.

Nice Pressure washer...
Be sure you keep your expectations realistic. I replaced my 10+ year old 2100psi 2GPM gasoline pressure washer with this 2000psi 1.4GPM Karcher K5 expecting it to be similar in power. It's not. They are up front that it's 0.6 gallons per minute less. My fault for not grasping how much less that really is...the GPM is what really counts.Don't get me wrong, it works really nice for washing the cars with the variable nozzle, and the turbo nozzle is nice too for blowing the dirt off the walkway. I just cant imagine it doing very well with things like cleaning the algae off the siding on the north end of my house and tougher stuff like that. The good part though... is I don't have to worry about accidentally harming the finish on my cars softer plastic bits and I'm not worried about my wife being able to use it with ease.It is really nice, and Electric is so easy .. no pulling the cord 5-10 times, no gas cans, no oil changes, no treating fuel for the winter... just hook up the hose, plug in the power, and wash. This is a really nice, feature rich unit that feels high quality. It would have been nice if they provided a hose that isn't so stiff...It's not the plastic junk that some come with, but it's also not the more flexible stuff like expensive units. It doesn't come off the reel easy, and as the curves stay in it when its not taught, you gotta be careful around the car as it doesn't just lay on the ground and can spring up and hit the car while you are moving around. Still ok... just a gripe I have.I do recommend this unit for general home use and car washing.

Not what I expected - Very disappointed....Sigh
I'm a fan of Karcher as I had one a few years ago and it was an electric power-washer with a PSI of over 2000 and it was great until the motor burnt out sad to say. So I decided to try this newer model, with less PSI but has the hydro-thermal functional to cool the motor...I got the unit via UPS and it was double boxed. The actual Karcher box inside was damaged so it must've came that way from Karcher, Not Amazon. I didn't like that at all, but I decided to give it a chance. I should have taken a pic and posted but I double boxed it for return before the reviewI put the unit together and had issues connect the handle on top. The screw connection is quite deep (about 3 inches deep) to connect an 1 1/2 screw. It was frustrating to make sure it took and since you cannot see, you're going by 'feel'.One feature I do like is the snap lock for the water hose connection to the unit. I didn't to waste time making sure the hose was firmly connected and worry about the hose loosening. Now I turned it on (to the same power cord and strip I used for the older model) and it tripped when I turned it on. I push the button on its power cord and I was good for awhile. As I use the unit and move the unit slightly, the cord will trip again. It seems the slighest touch or drop the breaker on the cord will trip. VERY ANNOYING and FRUSTRATING.When you pull the trigger, then the motor kicks in, as per the guide. Which makes sense - the initial 2 or 3 seconds, the power of the water is nothing. Which I feel is quite annoying. The older model the motor never ran until I pull the trigger, but it was much faster than this one.To me when you turn the unit on, the motor ran for a sec or 2 to get water in to its tank (prime it up) and turn off, but that initial water should compensate and give the initial PSI when the motor kicks in.The hose reel seems cool when you finish but after you unwind it to use the hose get kinked and you have to stop spraying and unwind the cord to remove the kink. This also happened to the older model as the hose is rigid. The soap tank again seems cool, but you have to use the unit on 'mix' to get the soap out and it's not really pressured. I rather have the soap pressured out as seen and used as at the car wash. After all that is a main reason on getting one for home use!I don't know about others - but not a fan of this unit. I'm quite dissappointed

works better than expected
Decided to give the foam cannon a try instead of just using the built in syphoning feature on my pressure washer... Big difference - much more foam - can apply faster and thicker - time to brush if needed then pressure rinse off... Allowed my washing of a 40' Motorcoach to be cut by a third in time and used less water (important for me as I have to truck my water to where I store the Motorcoach)... Worth a try if you are considering this over the syphon on the Pressure Washer.!
