I have a 1000 gallon pond in my side yard. Despite very good aeration and filtration, my pond water turned murky green early in June.I began BIOPOND treatment by adding 1 tablespoon of the product every three days, the recommended "shock" treatment for a pond my size. After four weeks there was no change/improvement in water clarity. The customer service folks at CISBAY -- who have been most supportive and responsive throughout -- recommended that I double the size of the shock treatments. After two more weeks of two tablespoons of BIOPOND every three days, my water turned muddy brown for a few days. Then, almost overnight, the water started to clear!!As of this review written in late July, my pond water is 75 - 80% clear. I am continuing water treatment with one tablespoon every three days until it fully clears, then plan on dropping back to the recommended "maintenance" dosage for my pond of one tablespoon of BIOPOND per week.The product appears safe for both aquatic plants and fish.I am very satisfied with this product, but one has to be patient and let the natural ingredients "do their thing." I am overwhelmed with the supportive customer service by CISBAY. They do things right!!!

I don’t normally leave reviews, but just had to with this product, as my results were simply fantastic…Cleaning your water is much like cleaning out your closet... It gets messy before it gets organized. So yes indeed the product does make your pond greener (more algae) as a few reviewers have pointed out. BUT WAIT… That goes away and what you're left with is clear, clean, healthy water with no pond smell!I LOVE this stuff! This product has cut our pond maintenance costs by 75%.The entire process took a few weeks for the algae levels in the water to clear up. And now we have clean, clear water, and our Koi are healthy and happy!The green that was shown in the video below happened to us as well, which is caused by the microbes eating the sides and bottom algae which rose to the top and all around. I called the company beforehand to discuss the product, and they told me this would happen, so it wasn’t a shocker.We built a small tri-level fish pond, for plants and Kio. It’s exposed all day long to the sun and raccoons at night. We had been using a pond company that came every 2 weeks to clean the pond (similar to a pool maintenance cleaning). This maintenance is when the guy gets in the pond with his waiters and large broom brush and scrubs down all the walls, changes half the water, and adds products. I felt this was stressful on the fish, and a few times the fish were left gasping for air in the corner due to all the changes and lack of oxygen when the guys had left.We wanted to scale the service back and reduce the associated expense. We use the same company that services the Getty Malibu Museum ponds, so you might appreciate these costs were high, but given the all day exposure to the CA sun, this meant high algae growth. In doing the research, we looked high and low for the best product that would enable us to reduce the maintenance schedule, while still keeping the fish and plant life at their happiest and healthiest. And boy did I do a lot of research and looked into a long list of products!We love our Koi and are very protective of their habitat as well as their safety. When we built this pond, we gave the Koi a hiding place for them at the bottom just so they would be protected at night from the neighboring raccoons. We’ve never lost even one fish in 4 years. I take special care when changing anything in their environment, and we had 14 babies born in this small pond, the pond maintenance company couldn’t believe it.As a pond and Koi owner, I highly recommend this product.(Will add photos soon)

I read all the reviews before purchasing this and was keeping an open mind....with that said...I am extremely pleased with this purchase. We built a goldfish/koi pond late this summer and did not have time in the season for adequate plants and etc. I did not want to use any chemicals and my water was getting cloudy with a slight green tint to the liner. I purchased this and use just a tablespoon as directed and within 2 days it was noticeably clearer...slightly greener but I could see the pump again in my deep in. I used it twice a week and by the third application the water was so clear I could see everything just like the first time I filled it. It has been 4 weeks now and the green on the liner is coming off. It is late in the season to be beginning this process but I plan to use it weekly until it gets really cold then as soon as spring comes again I will plan to use it twice a week for a little while. It is simple to use. You do not need to use much so this bag will last a long time. I have no weird pond smells and it definitely took care of all my issues. I am very happy with this purchase.

BIOPOND WORKED LIKE A CHARM FOR MY KOI POND. Despite all the mixed reviews, I used this product in my koi pond. Following all the instructions, I turned off the UV light, and kept using the recommended dosage every three days for the first two weeks. After that it goes to a weekly dosage. I now have two feet visibility and my koi are healthy where before, I could not even see any fish. I have to say that it does seem a little bit greener after the first few days, and I guess that is where a lot of the negative comments are coming from. BE PATIENCE and wait for the biological process take place.​ See the before and after photos of my 8000 gallon koi pond.

Awsome product. Cleared our pond up after a couple treatments. Our pond looked like pea soup before but it is now clear. I had to call the company to clarify the amount for my pond and they have been so helpful. They have actually called me to check on the progress and emailed as well. Will definitely buy this product again.I read another review and how it made his pond worse. Well it does actually get worse at the beginning and then clears. I called the company which again have been helpful and they explained how the product works Killing algae from bottom first. The algae does float upward turning the water a darker green. They also told me to mix the product with water so the fish wouldn't eat it before it could do its job. It took a us a good month following the companies directions but our pond is clear.
