**Q: does this come with the string?  description says yes but some reviewers saying no**
A: When New, the book comes with a string. The item we have in our inventory does not include the string. It is a Used book and often when we get books like this, we do not receive the materials that are supposed to come with them. I can only speak for the item in our inventory, not those that other sellers have.
