So many helpful uses, love it
I have a push lawnmower & a lumpy yard. I rolled my ankle 3 times in 1year just walking on it. So to help me out currently my boyfriend is cutting my grass. As you can imagine 90° heat with humidity makes just walking out the door feel gross. Which is why I got this. Now when he is half way through mowing the yard, I'll take it out of the freezer & walk it out to him so he can place it around his neck & shoulders to cool off. Then I clean it up & stick it back in the freezer. He's helping me out & doing me a favor & suffering through the heat & humidity. I wanted to be able to offer him more than a glass of ice water to stay cool & THIS AMAZING LITTLE GEM, really does cool him down. I've never used it for hot flashes but I can imagine seeing how much it helps him it would work wonders for hot flashes. Honestly I can think of so many uses for it. I'm glad I stumbled upon it. He loves it & I love the joy of being able to offer him something to cool down with. Great product.

I love this thing!
I do not have the joy of hot flashes but I did have a hysterectomy. My cousin told me I had to get one of these and she was absolutely right! It is made of tiny pellets and it forms itself to fit wherever you need it. After surgery it was very comforting because of the weight but it was pliable unlike a more solid ice pack that would've hurt my already delicate tummy area. I've used it several times since I've recovered from the hysterectomy. I have a bad shoulder with a sore collarbone, it's form-fitting. My daughter had her wisdom teeth out and it worked perfectly. Lower-back ache? It's got you covered. It doesn't stay cold for very long but technically you should only use ice for 15-20 minutes at a time. I'm an ice junky after having a torn rotator cuff. Luckily this gets cold again in the deep freeze really quickly. And it comes with a nice removable cover so you can throw it in the washer. It was my best friend for a while post surgery.

Overpriced but effective for short time
When I first took it from its packaging, I noticed there were no tags or pamphlets explaining what’s in it. It feels like small glass beads. I put it in the fridge for about 24 hours. The initial chill is fantastic and will be appreciated by any menopausal or post menopausal woman. The good chill part lasts about 30 minutes. It gets too warm after about an hour. It is 20” long, not 21” as stated. It’s just a bit too short to go around to the middle of the front of my neck, which I wish it would. It has a removable, washable cloth case with a Velcro strip. It seems ridiculously expensive for what you get, but the nice chill when needed is glorious. I guess I’ll be keeping it.

Surprised, but it worked nicely
It really is a hot flash pillow!! I didn't think it would really help, but it actually helped me get to sleep when I seem to have most of my hot flashes and that is such an awesome thing for someone who can't sleep at night!!!PROS: Nice cool, soft comfortable, fits around neck nicely when in bed on your pillow.CONS: I just wish it would stay cold longer!!!So it works nice, but you might have to buy a 2nd one and rotate if you have problems through the night with hot flashes.I recommend it!

Works perfectly!!!
This item works great when having a hot flash - I put it around my neck and instantly cools meDown. Haven’t used it for sleeping yet but did use when I had stomach cramping and better than an ice pack. Beads stay cool for hours. Highly recommend!!

Cooling doesn’t last long.
I’m in menopausal stage and get hot flashes at night often. This only relived my symptoms for short period of time.

a must have for quick cool downs from hot flashes
I'm in my 40's and a recent breast cancer survivor and just completed all my preventative surgeries including an oopherectomy (ovary removal). I was instantly in surgical menopause. I can't take estrogen as I'm ER+ (any estrogen would feed any cancer cell in my body). So without hormones I was having hot flashes 10-12x/day for weeks! More like warm overs as I wasn't sweating profusely.I bought this hot flash pillow to use on my neck and it works great for me! I keep it in the freezer and was using it 2x/day including running cold water on my wrists, splashing cold water on my face, putting a little room fan near my bed towards my body, wearing light layers of clothing like tank tops with a lightweight cardigan and honestly and reducing any stress). The coldness of the pillow lasts for 10-15 minutes for me. I did this for 2 months. I'm 5 months out and my menopause symptoms are diminishing. I'm athletic and workout 6x/week with intense weight lifting, running, crossfit, etc and maintain a very health eating lifestyle (little sugar, tons of green smoothies, no red meat, some carbs and occasionally a slice of pizza or sushi 1x/week). I've been doing this for several years prior to my diagnosis but those combinations have DEFINITELY alleviated my menopause symptoms as my body was going into estrogen deprive mode for a few months! The hot flash pillow is a great reliever when it starts. For me, if I feel it coming on, I grab this pillow, splash water on my face or stand in front of a fan and I feel like I have it under control.

Not cold or retaining cold
Useless. It is just some material with some beans, rice or similar product in it, as far as I can tell. It does not retain any cold.It says to put in freezer for 4 hours. I had mine in the freezer for 24+ and it stayed cool, not cold for maybe ten minutes. Very disappointed. It maybe a better heating pad-?
