As a seventh grade student at an independent school, I wanted a book that would help me to develop positive and effective study skills. Although the book may appear geared towards high school and college students, I found it perfect for a middle school student who wants to learn these habits as early as possible. Study Effectively and Ace Tests, Quizzes, and Final Exams were my two favorite chapters, although there are over 200 ideas presented to help a student in all areas of learning. The book is broken down into easily read blocks of information so that by reading a few tips each night, I completed the book quickly. I highly recommend this book to any student who wants solid suggestions that are doable and easy to implement.

Outstanding. Highly recommended for students and parents!
This book is full of practical advice for both students and parents. Cynthia Muchnick is also a highly engaging and insightful speaker. Her presentation "A Parent's Guide to Study Skills" would resonate with all parents who want to help their students to do their best at school.

I like it
I found this book very helpful. I had to skipped some of the chapters especially on taking notes in class because I am a self study study. It did work wonders for me on reading my text.

some topics are a bit basic but was a good read for a high school student. Would recommend for those entering High school. Too basic for college level students.

I like it
This book has given me some pointers that I had never thought of before. It is a really good purchase and it is on my tablet. I wish that I could print somethings but, I still enjoyed the book.

Very good reference that has helped my son prepare for high school. Lots of good advice given that he has taken and, as a result, has been having a very successful school year.

Disappointing to say the least.
Probably as generic as I could have imagined. If the child had had any teacher worth two cents and he/she was the least bit interested in doing well then they probably already know the majority of what's in this book. There is very little in this book actually assessing how to study for an actual test....which surprises me. Very disappointed.

Exactly what I was looking for
Has some great ideas and a fresh voice. Is not condescending - which is really nice. Like the format with the little tidbits rather than chapters.
