GREAT FOR DOGS AND HUMANS!
This is an excellent product. My older dog was getting nervous about stairs, we can't put a carpet runner because of stair lights, and I didn't want to ruin the look of our oak wood stairs with an ugly black tread. These treads are perfect. Once in place you can barely see them and my dog is running up and down the stairs again. It's better for us, too, because it's easy to slip on the stairs in stocking feet. Unlike other treads I've read about, socks don't stick or catch on them either. A few probably obvious tips on installation: (1) Mark the left edge where you want them with tape first. It's much easier to line them up and get them straight (2) If possible, start with the stair that is least visible. I didn't get the first one totally straight and stupidly did the bottom stair first. Once they are stuck it's hard to get them off. (3) DO follow the direction of rolling them down from left to right instead of just placing the whole thing down at once. It's much easier to get out air bubbles this way. (4) The wallpaper edging roller worked better than our rolling pin because of its size, but, I pressed so hard I broke it. A pantry can might have worked better for me. You can obviously still see the treads when finished but after a while you don't see them at all. I love them!

No more slipping
My 61 pound dog slipped head first down the wood steps, much to my horror. She hit the wall and a trunk at the bottom and strained a muscle. I purchased these non-slip adhesive pads and it never happened again. They were easy to install and they almost disappear so my beautiful oak wood steps look like they always have. They are excellent and are fit for purpose

I can't fairly provide a rating because we ended up not using the treads. Because we needed something right away we decided to cut up one of our rubber equipment mats to cover the entire stairs. This has worked very well because it covered each step completely right up to the stair nose and remained in place without sliding around. We have ceramic tile stairs and one of our elderly dogs, had slipped a couple of times and had since hesitated to come down the steps on her own. The mat has worked out very well and can simply be lifted up for cleaning if needed. Looking at the treads received I am sure they would definitely help my only concern being that they do not cover the entire step.

Excellent Solution for Bare Wood Stairs
A rare 5 Star review for me but this is truly an excellent product. A perfect solution for my bare wood basement stairs and most importantly adds a safety factor for dogs and people. They are barely noticeable and easy to install. I highly suggest getting a 4” Wallpaper Roller to squeeze out air bubbles for $8 that can be found on Amazon. Clean your steps first. I suggest just a little Dawn and a damp towel, then a dry towel. Nothing that polishes or leaves a shine, and leave to completely dry. Get your centering right and pencil mark it. Instructions tell you the rest. Beats epoxy and nailing stair treads by a mile and very easy.

Very expensive and damaged floors
First and foremost, pay attention that there are only 4 in the pack. This makes these REALLY expensive. I ended up removing them and replacing them with carpet runners. When I removed them, they took the finish off the hardwood floors similar to the pictures of another reviewer. However, while they were in use they looked pretty good and didn't bubble up.

Great for our old shepherd... wonderful product
Our old shepherd has been falling down the stairs because of her bad hips and she can't catch herself because her nails just slip on the hardwood. It's heartbreaking. I bought these and since I put them on the stairs over a month ago she hasn't fallen once. She semi slipped just the other night because her paw stepped on the outside edge of the stair where there was no pad, but because of the traction underneath her other paws she caught herself and was able to make it up without incident. We just love her so much, It's such a relief to be able to give her a useful tool.***update***These have been on our stairs for 5-6 years now, and they are still in great shape. I’ve never had one move or come off.

Strong adhesive
They worked but when we pulled them up less than a month later they splintered and broke my bamboo stairs

DO NOT BUY! Damages wood floors
This is an absolutely terrible product! Firstly, all you get is a tiny strip that only covers a small portion of each step. It did absolutely nothing to help any one of our 3 dogs, they still slipped on the stairs over the single day these strips were attached to the step. When we realized they don't help at all, and do nothing but look very unattractive on our steps, we decided to follow the manufacturer's directions to carefully remove these strips. What you see here is a photo of just one of the badly damaged areas. It comes up with the finish on the hardwood! We were quoted $800 to fix the damage these useless strips caused to our wood steps in a matter of several hours. Wish I saw the warnings of others and heeded their advice... STAY AWAY! =(((
