.com This board game, which can be played at four different levels of complexity, is a good way to introduce young kids to prehistoric life on earth. It's played a bit like Candyland: You roll a die and move your fossil playing piece over colored spaces. Progress around the board coincides with the extraordinary evolution of dinosaurs that roamed the planet as far back as 570 million years ago. As the animals adapt and change, players can land on squares that advance their path ("Develop lungs. Swim ahead three spaces.") or hold them back ("Bitten by Plesiosaurus. Paddle back two spaces."). When you land on a creature, collect the matching creature cutout and place it on its skeleton on your side of the board. The winning player is the first to collect all nine of his or her allotted cutouts. (In more advanced levels of the game, players have to answer questions about the dinosaur before collecting the cutout.) --Tom Keogh From the Manufacturer Dinosaurs appeal to kids of all ages. Dinosaurs and Things, with three game levels, is equally appealing. Each game lets you travel back to the prehistoric world, experienced. Included is a full-color game board depicting the geological ages of prehistoric life, four "fossilized" playing pieces, 36 dinosaur cutouts and three decks of question cards. Plus, a bibliography of dinosaur books and more.

Sneaky science is the best ;)
My 5 year old loves to play this game! We make up our own rules to make it go a little faster, but this game is easily adapted to different levels. Some of the questions are more difficult than others but there are some awesome facts that, even if you don't remember them for the next time, are fascinating. The best part is all the amazing opportunities this game presents to expose my young child to scientific terms. Phylum, carnivore, herbivore, vertebrate, extinct, cephalopod. The list goes on! Even if a child doesn't remember these words, they are hearing them and you can talk about what they mean. It's also a great way to discuss the biological timeline of life and help children better visualize a concept that can be hard to grasp. For our young child, we choose to play it more like Candyland in that what color you roll, you move your piece to the next color. If someone passes a dinosaur, they collect that piece and I'll ask the simple questions or just read them as facts.I love this game to bits and would recommend it for anyone looking to use fun as a learning experience.
