Getting to know Eirik
**Contains Spoilers**This book started off slow... Not when you're reading Eirik's point of view. He's just come into Hel and finds a party being held for him by his father Baldur. Then just like that he's taken to a dungeon by his mother, Hel, because he won't turn into the person she wanted him to be. In this book, we learn a lot more about Eirik and why he was brought to earth to be brought up by a loving family. We also learn what those weird, scaly scars are on his back. The slow part I'm talking about is when we're first reading about Celestia. She's a Witch and trances to help people in trouble, even though her mother (who abandoned her) calls her the "Harbinger of Death". Celestia's part picks up speed when she's "soulnapped" and sent straight to Eirik's dungeon. She finds out Hel is going to starve him and when she goes back to Hel on her own, she brings him things to bring him back but finds she's trapped in Hel.The story picks up and is actually really interesting. Especially as you read about Eirik and Celestia's budding relationship. By the end of it, I was ready to dive into the second book of Eirik's.

Love this Series!
Book Review- Demons by Ednah WaltersEirik is the son of the Goddess of Hel. He is escorted to his mother’s realm by Echo. At the moment he hates Echo for taking Cora. She is the only reason he doesn’t hurt him. When he reaches his mother’s home the first person he meets is his father. The homecoming he receives is surprising. His father warns him that he isn’t safe here. His mother finally joins them demanding Eirik show his true self. He is confused and angers his mother. She places him in the dungeon until he can do so.That is where Celestia comes across him. She is a witch that can astral project. She finds herself in Eirik’s prison cell. He thinks she is there sent by his mother. She wants to help him but believes he is the victim of a prank gone wrong. She has no clue where she really is or who he is. She goes home deciding to help him when she learns more of the situation. She plans on what to take with her.Hayden and her mother think she went to Hel and try to explain about the gods of Asgard. Celestia doesn’t believe what they are telling her. Hayden helps her return to Eirik. Celestia takes care of him. Eirik like having her there and wants to protect her. Celestia learns the truth of where she is. She meets and befriends a few unbelievable people. She also finds she can’t project home. She is stuck in Hel.Eirik is also finding out shocking revelations about himself and his family. He also fights against his mother and her demands. He is determined to keep Celestia safe from everyone even his mother.I have read all the books in this series that tell Raine’s story and Cora’s story. I am finally getting to Eirik’s story. He was mysteriously missing in the other books and I always wondered what was happening to him.His introduction to his family was definitely lacking. The author really blows the mind of the reader. How could his mother treat him like that? A question I asked myself a few times throughout the story.I also loved Celestia. She was a great character. She was full of sass but had a big heart. She was definitely a match for the cockiness Eirik possessed. They were a good combination of characters. The dragon was surprising and was the reason Celestia was unable to go home. You don’t learn the reasons until almost the end of the story. It isn’t what I expected but a good twist. I can’t wait to read the next book. I give this a 4.5 out of 5.

Not my favorite couple
I've been dying to get inside Eirik's head all throughout the original series. He kind of got sidelined and this series was something I've had on my "to-read" list for a while. I dove in, expecting the happy-go-lucky kid we originally met, but sort of forgot about all the crap he has been through. And his obsession with Cora was a little bit of a cruel reminder. This book may have ended up in a good place that left me wanting more, but it definitely took a little while to get there. We start this journey with Eirik showing up at his mom's house. Sounds innocuous but his mom happens to be a pretty bad lady. Thrown into a cell before the day ends, he's being faced with some tough lessons. Celestia is a witch who goes to witch school somewhere that witches are apparently normal things. She's been gifted with the ability to project herself and help save people. Somehow she ends up as a soul in Eirik's cell and in for away more than she bargained for. These two don't immediately have a good relationship. There is a lot of denial and fighting that happens and even when we think they are almost on the right path, they manage to mess things up all over again. Sadly, I had a pretty hard time enjoying their banter when I knew the entire time Celestia was with Eirik, her body was comatose. Eirik was a bit of a selfish bastard for not trying harder to help her escape and not have her family freak. These two are definitely still in the early phases of their relationship and the cliffhanger didn't help me much at all. I want to see where they end up, I just wish there was some payoff in between that made me like them more.
