Blu Ray version does not have "choose their fate" feature.
pretty disappointing to sit down to watch the classic "choose their fate" version of this film which, let's be brutally honest, is just about the only reason someone would still be buying this movie at this point, only to find out that despite what it says online and on the actual cover of the blu ray...it isn't there. It only exists on the dvd version I guess? So now...not only have I lost all faith in cheap, roadside amusement park roller coasters but I now have trust issues concerning blue ray reprints of classic (?) movies. So if that was the point of your bizarre, Pavlovian experiment than I salute you amazon...I salute you.

Fun but doesn't reach the height of the previous film
Originally intended for a 3D release new line couldn't get theaters to upgrade to the new format in time. This one starts with a horrible but slightly disappointing rollercoaster accident sequence. It feels like a straight up comedy to me but the death setpieces are both hilarious and shocking. Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Live free or Die Hard) stars as the girl trying to save everyone and cutie Ryan Merriman (Ring 2) stars as another potential victim going along for the ride. The movie is fun but it sadly skips the progress made with the second film feeling like more of a reboot. Regardless it's still entertaining even though it doesn't reach the height of the previous film.Budget: $25MBox Office: $118.9M7/10

Choose Indeed
I do enjoy a good thrill ride as well as good story. This outing of Final Destination stands out with its gorgeous leads, worthy of any casting from a CW/WB TV series. A nice story that develops a bit more than the previous Final Destination. I have yet to watch the original but I do like this movie. Actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead is a wonderful actress with the right material but most of the other actors are pretty weak. Plus, as referenced in a special feature included in this DVD, a typical representation of cheesy horror cliches.A High School Senior Party at an amusement park turns into a horrible vision for Mary Elizabeth Winstead's character that only partially becomes realized as she realizes that after a previous event (Final Destination) that a catastrophe like that must claim all that were intended to die. But what makes this story cool is that not only does it incorporate the similar attempt to avoid destiny but uses an interesting motif. Also, is this special edition DVD includes a Choose Your Fate mode that allows you to change events from the original theatrical release. This is better than deleted scenes or alternate endings, which is this, but it actually gives the viewer the choice. I like how I have the two girls are electrocuted instead of fried, or how I can spare the funny guy. Or have the jock die without being seen as a jerk.I originally gave the movie a B-, but for this DVD an A for such a clever feature. I only wish the Blu-Ray could be like this.

The best "Final Destination" Film
Honestly, this is my favourite "Final Destination" film. Although the first one is always really good because, well, it's the first. But in this one, the actors, especially Mary Elizabeth Winstead, show real, visceral emotions. Because in all honesty, watching one friend die would be enough to traumatise someone. But to have witnessed multiple deaths of friends is something that would truly break someone and do irreparable damage. In other horror films, including most of the other Final Destination films, the characters are "shocked" by the sudden deaths, but it doesn't seem to weigh on them at all. The next scene, literally later on in the same day, they are fine. They are back to "we gotta solve this before someone else gets hurt!" mode. Like I mean think about it. REALLY think about it. Imagine if you just witnessed your close friend get killed right before your very eyes. I would be a mess. Back to Final Destination 3, I think Mary Elizabeth Winstead really conveys this sense of agonizing, physically painful grief. I also think that the Score for the film was very well done. Somehow, everything worked out so well.

Gratuitous female topless nudity - but otherwise - not as good as previous FD but not bad
I’m not a prude, and if there is a very good reason for nudity then - ok - but here it is just for the purpose of being… titillating. I just felt so bad for the two young women on camera. This movie stays with the formula of FD1 & FD2. No surprises in movie design, but kinda fun to see the same grotesque idea played out yet again. Strange that it is always really good looking young people who are gruesomely killed in these movies. Also morbidly interesting that all deaths are due to a Rube Goldberg method…

Final Destination 3(2006)
Final Destination 3(2006) has some plot holes and laughable moments, but it is a solid, fun, cheesy horror film. So far, this is the only installment that I've seen. The script was written by Glen Morgan and James Wong. These two wrote scripts for The X Files. Wong also directs. The late Shirley Walker composed music for the film. Wendy(Mary Elizabeth Winstead) has a vision that she and her friends will die on a roller coaster. Wendy and her friends cheat death as the roller coaster malfunctions. As the story progresses, our protagonists are killed in a series of mishaps! Winstead is lovely and very good as Wendy. She adds texture and charm to a character that could have been dull. Chelan Simmons(from the TV movie It) plays a Paris Hilton-ish snob. Tony Todd(Night of the Living Dead, Star Trek Deep Space Nine) lends his voice to an "animatronic devil".There's two cool "Goth" kids in the film. The Final Destination 3 DVD has an extra feature where one can slightly alter the story. The "9/11 Photo" in the film was pretty tasteless! For a Hollywood movie made in 2006, the production values and special effects are solid. Final Destination 3 is perfect for a Halloween party.

Entertaining deaths, but nothing new, and unnecessary
The first 2 installments tied in very well with each other. This 3rd installment was made to make money. The storyline was terrible and it didn't tie in to the first two movies at all. Some of the death scenes were entertaining.....barely.Also beware that there are defective Final Destination 3 dvds floating around out there. You'll be better off buying the multi-movie disc.....and not part 3 by itself.

"Can I Just Say.. You Make Me Crazy!"
Okay the big thing so to speak in this instalment is the incident, (potentially tragic incident), is going to take place at the fairground, on the rollacoaster!I quite like the photo at the start.. : "Die!"I mention it so often and it appears that a lot of horrors, (especially the cheesy ones like this), love and I mean love to use lots of proleptic irony! (It does kinda grate!)So a year book has to made.I love the cliche characters in these types of movies!"Hey meet you at the end!"It seems like they're using a digital camera as if it were some sort of big deal! - But I guess it was 2006!As usual you get the premonition of the disaster and then the actual disaster! You do think while watching what are the chances of that?! - Eg when one guy's camcorder falls off the rollacoaster and lads on the a lower part of the track and wraps around with the cord! (But that's just death's way!)"Hang in there!" - That's a massive understandment! All the characters seem to be the same all the way through! This movie is a great illustration as why not to take a sun bed!!I think its actually a lot better than the first movie. The first one seems to really drag its feet. This one is more exciting and gets on with things a lot quicker! And so as usual the characters figure out which order people are due to die in!I just find myself not really listening to this movie!I must say she has taken some strange photos at the fairground!I think without sounding too gory perhaps the death sequences are better in four and five!(A death takes place in the gym).So did it skip someone?!"Now let us hope for some lightning!""Well. Seeing is believing!"When a character says, (and I know its a huge cliche), "I'm not gonna die!" You know.. you just know!! (Obviously that must be the point!)"Wendy, Julie! What are the chances?!"So everyone meets their death at the end.. (on the train track!)I think out of the three I most prefer the end of instalment two, (its quite comical in a dark way!)

The ride of your life-or death!
After Wendy Christensen {Mary Elizabeth Winstead} and her pals survive being on a roller-coaster that crashes and kills all aboard. They start getting killed off in terribly gruesome ways. Wendy, after piecing together a link to previous instances of premonition escapes, realises that death is out to finish the job it started. But can she convince the rest of her friends before death comes a calling? What started out as a fresh and exciting idea with Final Destination in 2000, is quickly becoming tired and stinking of a cash cow franchise. Don't get me wrong, FD3 contains new and ingenious ways to off a bunch of pretty and annoying teenagers, but death literally has lost its sting, he's no longer a threat. Not even the voice of Tony Todd {interestingly absent}, as used here, can rouse one from the slumbers. Even as I write this we are about to be privy to part four in the series, "The Final Destination," with the gimmick of 3D serving only as a tool to entice those in who are jaded by the formula that FD refuses to break free from.I own the film, in fact the two disc DVD is a whole bunch of fun {make sure to turn your surround sound up for the roller-coaster segments}. But better deaths do not a better film make, and Final Destination 3 ends up being a run of the mill horror picture that's even forgot how to have fun, and that is something that pains, and gnaws away with each and every viewing of it. 5.5/10

Loses one star for killing off the dreamy Michael Landes character off screen between 2 and 3 but still excellent
If part 2 was better than part 1 (and, IMO, it was) then what is part 3? Having the lovely Mary Elizabeth Winstead as the "girl who gets the premonition this time round" is a huge bonus. I found myself wanting her to live. The death scenes in this second sequel are horrifyingly grotesque but that just adds to the films enjoyment factor. What this film lacks is the spectacular opening freeway free for all disaster. However the rollercoaster is nicely done. There's some wonderful acting here and there, the odd baad performance threatens to sink the film, but it remains afloat. Whilst I have got nothing against nasty naked titties, there were a pair in part 2, the particular scene I am referring to is unacceptably gratuitous and unforgivably graphic. This instance of nudity is far worse than any blood and guts. It's another reason why I'm deducting a star. Anyhoo aside from some bloody awful fake, or real, breasts this sequel is aces.

LOVE LOVE LOVE
The final destination film collection fascinates me however this one has to be my favorite so far its just so imaginative - its crazy. I love theme parks and this just adds to my love for them. Who can resist the big scary looking rides? not me that's for sure and after this movie i am so going on more and more of them. This movie is fantastic - who else can create such imaginative ways of dieing? The plot to this final destination itself if pure genius i don't want to give it all away but let me tell you if you don't watch this movie you're missing out BIG TIME!I can't wait for the next in the collection!!
