Digital Optical Toslink Coaxial to Analog RCA Audio Converter Adapter with 3.5mm Stereo Jack Output

Item arrived quickly, as advertised. Adapter was ideal to convert digital cable output of my DVD player to Analog input to my older headsets, works great with no distortion.

While it worked fine through my Stennheiser headphones on standard TV when I tried to use it to listen to anything on Netflix I get so much static I can't hear the dialog. I can't find an answer to cure that so I will probably discard this device.

Granted, at upwards of 5700 Hz or above many adults can not hear a grounding problem. Most adults have been to enough rock concerts that that just can't hear that high anymore, since it is so far outside human speech, they do not notice... but I did. If you can't guess, I am a sound engineer. I wanted to give this a test to see if I could get a clean line level analog signal. I (of course) changed the DTS output to PCM and turned off all enhancements. (Windows 7 Pro was my sound source). I think this 5500-6200 Hz (approx) tone at 25-30 Db is probably just plain inaudible for many adults.. I warn you it might drive your dogs crazy though. Back to the drawing board... this device needs a ground loop isolator. [...] Here is some info about the problem.. although this is not in you typical 60Hz range. More research is required (and probably an English to Chinese interpreter).

Very happy with this converter, worked out very well for my application.

worked just as described, just don't forget to program the device for the proper output. PCM. will not work with dolby digital.
