I must say, the swabs are genuinely remarkable, although the price point could be a bit more reasonable for the quantity you get. As an owner of the Nikon Z6II camera, I also experienced the frustrating oil spot issue. The instructional video provided made it easy to understand how to use them properly, and I could clean the sensor with no issues. Just one swab was enough to remove all the more prominent spots (which numbered around 10) except for one barely visible speck. The difference in the camera's performance was significant, mainly since I also shoot videos. These swabs turned out to be an effective solution to the oil problem that has been plaguing the Nikon Z6II - I can highly recommend them!

I have a Nikon D7000, and recently noticed a bunch of spots on the right side of some photos and videos. When locking up my mirror and looking at the sensor, the junk on the sensor was clearly visible (note that most cameras need a fully charged battery before they will allow the mirror to lock up for cleaning!). I came to find out that the D7000 (among other cameras) is known to get oil drops on the sensor, from oil used in the mirror mechanism spattering. After a bunch more research, I saw that a hand blower is the first recommended step to clean the sensor, so I tried that w/o success... But this was expected, if this was in fact oil, rather than dust. So then I opened up this kit and used 2 of the 4 swabs to clean the sensor. Note that these swabs are too wide to clean the sensor from left to right, so you can only clean up and down. At first I was worried, because the first few times I swabbed the sensor, it just seemed to make the spots streak and look worse. But when I used the second swab and rubbed the sensor a few more times, until I saw no more streaks, I was thrilled that I had rid myself of the spots. Note that, spots on the sensor are typically only noticeable when the aperture is very small (big number for F stop), so that may be why a dirty sensor can go unnoticed on many photos. One other note is, the pack comes with 1 wet cleaning cloth and a pack of 10 dry cleaning cloths. These clothes are specifically NOT intended by the manufacturer to be used on a sensor (it's easy to miss the directions), though I've also seen some how-to videos on YouTube showing photography experts using these for the sensor (they wrap them around a cleaning stick). Anyway, to be safe, I would only use the stick swabs to clean the sensor, the other cloths are for camera lenses, etc. I also suggest watching a few how-to videos and reading a few photo blogs about the process of cleaning the sensor before you buy anything, and especially before you start the cleaning process. Clearly, there are a lot of different opinions out there about how to go about cleaning a sensor, even among supposed experts! Bottom line, this product did a great job of cleaning my dirty DSLR sensor, even though I had never tried to do it before.

So far so good I haven't needed to clean the sensor but I needed to clean my lens and this came recommended I really love the small bag of tissue wipes they are more like cloth? Than tissue the ones I was using are like tissue paper. These don't have partials flying around either. I also appreciate it literally takes 1 drop of cleaner to clean a lens with no streaks left. I added to this case a small bulb to blow any small dust particles off. I think that would be a great option to add to this. All in all so far its a good kit for the value and easy to use the pack it comes in is durable so far too.

I bought this product to remove the dust from my Canon 5D Mk2's full-frame sensor, and was successful on the very first use. The swabs included are just the right size to wipe the sensor from left to right and back, safely and completely. The swabs also worked well on a Nikon D5100's smaller APS-C sensor when wiped top-to-bottom. As a side note - most DSLR cameras have a low-pass optical filter over the sensor, so that is what you will be wiping the dust from, not the sensor itself... The kit comes in a fairly high quality zippered soft case with lots of room for other small stuff, and includes a bottle of Eclipse cleaning fluid (.5 fl oz, which is actually quite a lot), a sealed pack of "PEC" cleaning pads, and 4 "prepared" swabs, each of which is sealed in plastic and ready for use. Each swab is plastic and spatula-shaped, with what appears to be a PEC pad, carefully cut, wrapped and rubber-banded in place around the flat end. The swabs are said not to be reusable after a single use, although it may be possible to cut, wrap, and rubber-band in place a fresh PEC pad onto the plastic spatula, if one could do so without contaminating it before use. I have not tried this (yet), but I may at some point. In any case, this kit works quite well and could prove very economical if the swabs can be "re-prepared" with fresh PEC pads and used over and over. Otherwise, a fresh pack of prepared swabs will be needed when the 4 provided swabs are used-up, which can be a little pricy although far less expensive and much more convenient than having the camera sensor cleaned professionally. Easy to use and had no issues. Just remember, elbow grease isn't what takes the grime off the sensor filter (most sensors have a glass or plastic cover over them). I had some grit that Canon didn't even take off in the clean and check at Professional Services. My sensor was really dirty. It's from the dust build up in the mirror area that mixes with the moister in the air. I ended up having to use the 3 swabs that come with this cleaning kit. The material is the very same as your micro cloth eye places give out with new eye glasses. The solution dries quickly, so you have to work quickly and efficiently. The included case is kind of neat to have. If you wanted to skip the case, you could just get the solution and the swabs / wands or whatever they call them. Do not push down hard. Let the solution do the work. You don't want to risk scratching anything.

It took me a few tries to finally get my sensor spot free. I don't know what I was doing wrong the first 4 times that I tried. I know it's not supposed to take that may times. I was about to take my camera to the camera shop, but they charge $60 and keep it for a couple of days. I don't know about you, but I don't like to have my camera out of my possession, laying around a camera shop. Another camera shop offered to clean the sensor while I waited, but they couldn't do it today. So, I tried one more time. This time, I had to use one of the 4" x 4" Pec-Pads that came with the kit. It was so much larger than the cloth on the sensor swabs, so I had to be really careful about folding, taping, etc., without touching the part that slides on the sensor. I read that it is not a good idea to try to cut the pec-pads since the fibers will then get inside your camera, so I didn't cut it. I've ordered 12 more swabs to have on hand. I still have plenty of the fluid left. While I'll agree with the other reviewers that the cost is a bit too high for the swaps, it sure beats paying $60 at the camera shop!

I had an unknown streak on the sensor of my Sony AR. I noticed spots in a a bunch of recent photos. I saw that product was highly regarded in reviews on various web sites. I ordered it from Amazon but ordered the wrong swab size (#2 swab instead of #3 swab for a 24mm sensor). I immediately contacted the company and they quickly responded. The mailed me the right size swabs the following day. (Thank You so much). There is nothing difficult about using this kit. A few drops on the swab and one back and forth motion is all it takes and the sensor is totally spotless. This saved me from sending my camera to Sony for an expensive cleaning. The photos are clear of any spots, like brand new perfect. I don't write many great reviews but in this case, it is well deserved.

Noticed that there were a few dark spots near the top of some recent photos (clear blue sky). Went online and researched YouTube videos - felt that the procedure was simple enough. I bought the kit that was featured on a certain YouTuber's channel (he's overweight, bald, tattooed, and ANGRY). Set up a clean area in my kitchen, and did the procedure. Try #1 - left streaks and smears all over the top third of the sensor. Tries #2 & 3 - about the same result. What am I doing wrong? 2 drops total of the eclipse fluid - waved the stick around for a second to let it dry out a little & saturate the cloth tip. Try #4 - streaking is minimal, but still present in the middle of the sensor, going all the way across from L to R. Not going to mess with it anymore & plan to take it to a camera shop to get it professionally cleaned - which is what I should have done in the first place. Thought I'd be saving myself some time & money, but ending up a waste of $30. Had I known it would've resulted in streaks, I would've bypassed this purchase.

I wouldn't recommend this product. I used it twice, each, on two different camera sensors and it didn't remove ANY of the dust spots. Ended up getting it cleaned professionally instead.

After spending huge amounts on gear why would you skimp on kit to keep it at it's best. In my opinion this is the best sensor cleaning system and the one I use, I've been cleaning sensors for over 10 years

I bought a very low mileage A7sii early last year and because of the age, condition and the fact that the camera came from a studio setup, I did not closely examine the sensor after purchase with a loupe, preferring to shoot a few test stills instead. Throughout Covid the camera was not used for video and during that time was housed in a protective camera cover inside a quality, compartmentalised sealed photo bag. Just recently I shot a test video which to my dismay showed what looked to be like dust and hairs on the sensor. Closer examination with a loupe identified what to me looked just like surface scratches. Using the in camera sensor cleaner and an air rocket failed to remove the debris and so I ordered the Photographic Solutions Digital Survival Kit as one of the most economical and well reviewed products currently available. Having priced the items individually and convinced that there were scratches on the sensor I opted for the kit as best value option albeit pretty overpriced in my opinion. Give me more swabs rather than a carrying pouch please! Based on user reviews I was looking for a quality item rather than something cheaper which might well do more damage than good. Having never manually cleaned a camera sensor before, I checked out the 'how to video' on their website, applied fluid to the swab and using more pressure than I would have done if I had not viewed the video, followed the clear instructions. To my amazement after using two swabs, the sensor is now perfectly clean and so despite the price and based on my personal experience I would recommend this product. I have attached before and after stills lifted from video clips to demonstrate the effectiveness of the solution in particular, coupled with the swabs. Are all swabs and cleaning solution equal in quality? I don't know and I am not prepared to experiment to find out. Yes the kit is expensive for what it appears to be but in my case it worked and that is worth every penny to me. Based on my own first experience of cleaning a mirrorless camera sensor, don't be be afraid to have a go at cleaning your own and check the user manual to see if you need to switch off digital stabilisation and lock the sensor before you do. A professional cleaning service in most cases is over twice the price of this cleaning kit and I would like to think that no one will take as much care of your own camera as you do....

The eclipse ccd cleaning system is very good. Using the Pec wipes reduce the number of sensor wipes required to keep your camera in tip top condition.

This kit was used to successfully removed five deposits - probably oil - on a Nikon D610 sensor after two attempts, a bit more force and probably a squarer contact was made the second time. The artifacts are no longer appearing in the image shot after cleaning. The process requires a steady hand.
