School Zone remains family-owned, focused on excellence, responsive to customers, alert to emerging technology, and committed to the community. We continually update our products with new features and content, reflective of changing standards, evolving teaching methods, and overall best practices. Review: Five Stars - good Review: Instructions on every page! - Most other workbooks just looked like pages of problems. And so many that it's overwhelming for kids to pick up. This book explains exactly how they want you to do it at the top. This is enough for motivated kids to do it on their own, or parents to quickly understand the point and steps of the lesson. The lessons are short, but with the perfect amount of practice without being overwhelming. There are A LOT of topics in this book. It's laid out in logic order. The first section is all fractions, which I think will end up being the hardest section for my student. But it's broken up by part so she's tacked most of it with ease. I know it was the hardest topic for me! There are 60 pages to work on, and one per day is very reasonable. So 2 months at 7 days a week, or 3 months at 5 days per week. It contains (counts are approximate) An answer key Fractions - 14 pages of adding, comparing, subtracting, multiplying, dividing. Going from mixed to improper. Percents & fractions, ratios, and decimals - 8 pages Decimal math - 6 pages of adding, comparing, subtracting, multiplying, dividing. GCF - 1 page Exponents - 1 page Beginning equations and algebra - lots of pages, including the properties and OoO Estimation and rounding Geometry - area, surface area, volume - 4 pages Probability - 1 page Negative numbers, number line and x-y grid- 9 pages, including The pages can be torn out on the perforation. We are punching holes and putting in a binder as we finish. What I would change: 1. I wish there was a refresher section on simplifying fractions, at the beginning,, since many skills are built on that. I'm going to move the GCF page up to help with this. 2. I wish each problem had more room to work. If I need to find a common denominator before adding fractions, I need PLENTY of room to write like x3=12/x3=15 one one side and x7=7/x7=14 on the other. kids HATE copying fractions to a blank sheet, so providing room to do all the scrunching in of steps would be amazing. That way we can see the process is correct - not just the answer. Definitely recommend
