The Essential Collection For the Church Pianist

Arrived within a few days in perfect condition.

It's a wide ranging set of sacred tunes with a reasonably broad range of styles (praise songs, hymns, and gospel, but mostly hymns). I'd say the arrangements are of a remarkably high quality, compare to other such collections. I've played many of these selections in Christian worship.

I had planned to use this in church services. I found I can use very few. Some are difficult and others don’t meet our standards of a more traditional service. Was a little disappointed in it.

I would give 10 stars if I could.This is an excellent compilation of popular anthems arranged in a soft jazz, or ballad style.Each song is a perfect duration for a beautiful offertory or prelude.I played two of the pieces already at church and the feedback was excellent. I usually play Bach's preludes or similar pieces. People love them, too, but the anthems just speak to their hearts.UPDATE: I went from an occasional substitute to a permanent position at our church, and this book is a lifesaver. Arrangements are for the most part very nicely done, difficulty level is perfect to put things together quickly without it sounding childish. I love this book, and played most everything in it by now. Congregation enjoys the music!

I have been playing the piano all my life, and occasionally for church. This book satisfies my need to just sit down and play a beautiful song with very little practice and also offers songs that require more work. It has been worth every penny of the price.

A nice and varied collections of songs for the church indexed by church year and event appropriateness. Most songs medium difficulty.

Probably my favorite book of hymn arrangements. I have given it to several church pianist friends and students. Every arrangement is good, a rarity in such books.

Was purchased as gift from recipient's wish list. (Wish lists are very convenient!) The recipient liked it and will use it frequently.
